I own a 2012 FLHX Streetglide. Basically I would like a bad ass exhaust sound to my bike. Still have the stock pipes on it. I would love to just go out and buy a new set of pipes but this is a pricy project. Is there a way to get a louder sound out of the stock pipes. Can the baffle be removed? Can the muffler pipe under the hard bag be separated from the rest of the pipe system? I'm just an average do it yourselfer but if this is something that's doable by an average jo then I would give it a try.
I have been looking at the various pipe manufactures and noticed they have slip-ons? Not totally sure what this is?
Before this bike I owned a 1994 FXR that had vance and hine straight pipes. It was pretty loud. I had a local guy put baffles in the pipe to quiet them down a little. This is kind of what I would like to do but the opposite if possible. Louden up my streetglide pipes and maybe have the option of putting the baffles back in?
Is it possible? Just as expensive as buying a new set of pipes? I'm thinking new pipes would run about 1200 to 1500 complete?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all
