Well I survived my 10th straight Yuma Prison Run and did the full install on Monday. The a/c was about as easy as it gets with FM's detailed instructions. The headers took a while while kept going back to the whole gasket thing until I called them. They got me straightened out right away. I kept reading about the difficulty with the Harley cone gaskets and kept looking at the ones I received with the headers and thought, those are flat thick gaskets. FM uses a flat machined head pipe. Duh!
Flashed the new program and did the recommended burn in cycle. Was out of time but managed to get a 4 mile ride in.
I did ride to work today and have to tell you, the sound is exactly what I was looking for. Nice and quiet at idle for the neighbors and a very nice deep aggressive rumble when I'm on it. Cruising along at 75 and heard the music like stock. One thing to remember if you go with the slash up mufflers, don't tighten them until you line up the bags. I selected them because I really like the looks of the mufflers following the flow of bags angle. Thottle response improved immediately and it definitely seems quicker all around. Again, this is only one 40 mile round trip to work and back but all and all, I'm happy and thoroughly impressed with the folks at FM. Top shelf company all the way.
