I'm sure this is on here but I wasn't ale to find it... or didn't look hard enough... Either way, I have CFR's inbound, FP 3 and SE heavy breather.... I know you lose a little low end torque with the CFRs, but not much from what I hear.... But in terms of headers... is there really much a difference between the V&H Power Duals or Dresser Duals? Thanks in advance!

I did a lot of research on that myself. I have the CFRs and they sound amazing. This winter I am going with the dresser duals, FP3, and the upgraded air flow that works with the stock cover. I am only doing the head pipes to kill the heat on the right. No did CFRs for the sound. I'd love to not change the air cleaner at all, but it seems you need to. I'm not sure why with an FP3, but oh well....everything will be in pieces in my garage anyway.

If you are after performance Power duals will be the way to go, I was told Dresser duals will not provide performance some of us are after. I like the way Dresser duals setup look though, clean separate pipes on each side.......I am not keen on pipe under the frame. I may go with 2 to 1 for performance.
I have dresser duals and CFRs love the tune this combination makes when the temperatures are at 60* and above but below 60* the echo inside a full face helmet is too much to bare. ear Plugs are a must. Just something to think about.

Actually there are 3 different head pipes, Power duals, Dresser duals and True duals.....Power duals provide more torque than the rest is what I was told....I guess Dresser duals & True duals are pretty much the same as they are separate pipes but Dresser duals also route under the frame as True duals doesn't....see attached pictures:

The SE heavy breather looks great but it puts a lot of heat on your right leg. That really surprised me, but it is made of aluminum and it soaks heat from the engine. I'm going to go back to the stage 1 breather kit...or the kit from Fuel Moto. Probably do that in the spring. I love the looks of the heavy breather and I can tolerate heat in cool weather riding.
Yeah me either..........and I live in arguably the hottest place in the USA.
I do know that changing out the head pipe and removing the cat was a HUGE heat reducer......do you still have the factory head pipe installed??

The only real difference in the exhaust routing on the true duals... obviously since the rear cylinder exits on the left side, not like true duals or PowerDuals which routes under from right to left...

One thing I would say worth noting is that my power duals will scrape before the floorboards when leaning into right curves. I was pretty upset after taking off some chrome on my new pipes. Wish I had seen the thread regarding that subject on here sooner.

View attachment 7798My dresser duals scraped once during a severe lean angle. These header pipes hang lower than the frame, so be careful on the lean angles or the end result will be this.
