Hello all, I'm new to this awesome forum and have a question
I have a 14 SG and I am looking to purchase the V&H 450 oversized SLIPONS is there any negatives to putting these on the 103?

I also have the Arlen Ness big sucker AC on
I guess what I'm looking to know is will I loose any power?
If so what pipe can I use to give that deep bass sound?

Regards

No issues at all IMO. I have the Vance & Hines 4.5" HO slip-ons. I swear by them for looks & sound. Deep, throaty, looks great on the bike. A bit pricey at $679.00, but worth every penny. They actually sound louder as the pipes get hotter. Glad I chose them.

Thanks for the response that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Got to have em.
I have the V&H fp3 in conjunction with those pipes I will be a happy man
Thanks again

Personally, I think you'll like the sound. I have the true duals and decat with twin slash slip-ons. I do like those 450's though. I also put the AN big sucker AC on as well. After I did this I did have the dealer run it on the dyno. These added horsepower and I run >98 HP now. I really don't think you will loose HP but probably gain a couple. However the cat does rob power. Short answer is no negatives IMO.

The bottom end is lost a bit... but not too much... the flow thru design decreases back pressure which reduces the torque a bit... but it's not a total loss... you gain. A bunch on top

Just came back from the stealer ship and they are telling me it will cause performance issues they are trying to talk me into the SE street cannons. Being a novice I'm a little lost anyone have the cannons? Do they sound good. Anything is better than stock right?

We've received nothing but VERY positive feedback from our customers who have gone with the Oversized 450 Slip-ons, most of whom are running them on 103" models so I feel you'd be very happy with this set-up if this was the direction you decided to go.

Not at all surprised to hear that your local dealer is trying to direct you to a Harley-branded slip-on...they want to keep all the money "in-house" so to speak. With that, I'm confident that you would be very happy with any slip-on from V&H and the Oversized 450s will delivery great performance and awesome sound so I'd encourage you to go with what ever slip-on you feel is best suited for your goals and budget because at the end of the day, you are the one riding the bike so you want to make sure that you are happy with your investment.

Good luck with your search and welcome to the forum!!

When I worked at our dealership there was always incentive to push Harley parts over aftermarket. With a good tune you can run what you want.

I know but they are very quiet at cruising speeds.
Thanks for the reply I really do appreciate all the help here. Great place to be this forum

My street cannons are really loud at 70 mph. I gotta wear earplugs or I'd get even more deaf than I already am for sure.

Okay, I have decided to go with the RC Components Exhaust (SLIP-ONS) I don't like the way the 450 mount from the side I saw a few pictures of them mounted hand decided that's not what I want. This whole thing has got me nuts. Worse part there is no riding weather in sight guess I have plenty of time.
Thanks Lindsey for taking all my questions the other day .

Oh one other thing and maybe not for this thread but I can't log on via Taptalk anyone know if there are issues?

You are most certainly welcome, glad to help!! You'll really like the RCX Slip-ons. I had the opportunity to run them on my bike for a short time and I really liked them. I had them paired with the stock header that had the cat still intact and they produced a very nice sound, which will be even louder and better sounding if you decide to also go with an "open" header.

Enjoy and ride safe!!

fyi, I didn't take them off because I didn't like them, I simply had another set sent to me from another vendor to try out.
