just bought a 19 SG.... 700 miles on it now and this Hydraulic Clutch action is either new to me or something is wrong. Its very noisy when shifting. Clashes most of the time placing into 1st after start and when I pull the clutch 100% in to disengage and up shift I feel and hear a click before I actually shift and then shift and get gear clash with all gears upward. This is no so much an issue on the downshift. I always rev to match engine with tranny when down shifting for smoother engagement. Dealership stated it is spot on.
Ive owned 04 and 14 lowriders and rode others but first time with Hydraulic clutch. Is this normal?

My 18 was the same way. It's definitely different at first but gets better around the 1000 mile mark. I believe its normal.

Thanks for the replies. At least this sounds to be familiar to others. Put big miles on yesterday... now at 1400 and need to get it to dealer for 1000 mile service. hopefully ill feel it smooth out over the next few thousand miles.

LOVE this M8...beautiful acceleration, sound and runs smooth. Harley is getting it right finally!

I read that many had this feeling on the clutch lever, I had M8 FLHR 2017 and now M8 FLHXS 2018 and never got that clack.
I think it does not matter.
By cons I received a reminder (# 0173) I must take the bike to the dealership for a possible leak (nothing seen) on the clutch receiver

2019 season about to get underway.. I would like to see this discussion continue. Any thoughts, issues, rumors, required dealership visits and repair in regards to only Hydraulic Clutch. Help us all understand the norms and resolutions. Thanks all.

Got a little info from dealer today to try. lift back tire off ground and start bike and select 1st with clutch fulling compressed to the bar, if rear tire takes roll...this would be cause to approach dealership. I will try this when the weather breaks soon.
