Does anyone know if you are suppose to use the black plastic insert for 58mm to 51mm on the Screaming Eagle Heavy Breather....My air cleaner sounds like poop..does not have the same power I did with the regular stage one air flow...used multiple maps and tunes with FP3. It is making a small tapping noise from the intake...and when you get on the throttle, it sounds like a 4 wheeler with the air box cover off. PLZ HELP!

I used the instructions that came with it. I did everything right per instructions. My question is should I use the 50 mm black insert ( adaptor ) that goes between the tube and chrome plate on the throttle body. It says to use the adaptor if you have standard 50 mm or to discard adaptor if you have 58 mm throttle body. I have heard people don't use the adaptor for more air even on 50mm throttle bodies.

I'm having the same issue and it's a rather offputting sound. Almost like a chugging sound around 2500 RPM and under load. I used the insert ring as I didn't see how not using it would increase airflow. They put the engineering and money into creating it and it smooths the transition into the throttle body so without some hard data i'd be hard pressed to believe the ring hurts anything.

Not experiencing any of the issues mentioned.
No excessive noise and certainly no excessive heat.
