Sorry if this was previously posted.. I did go back thru and look for it..

Called a local HD shop for a parts and price list to install 14 in twin peaks on my 2013 SG (no ABS)..

He called back with a list.. Two things on his list didnt match mine..

1. CVO Throttle sensor. He explained that after unplugging the stock sensor that it may never work again and the manuals say replace it. (Ive never read about that online researching this ordeal). He also explained the CVO TBW is long enough for my 14 inch bars. With out having to use an adapter .. no extra plug to pull thru...
Im thinking it may be worth the extra $80.. After all the adapter is $40 something.

2. He says I NEED to use a Paul Yaffe super clamp? The only information I can get off the web is that its required on 2007 and earlier bikes when installing Yaffe bars.. Or when the knurling on aftermarket bars is questionable.. Thats directly from Bagger Nations site.
Twin Peak bars are nice. The knurling is wicked... Compared to the stock HD bars? HDs look like bicycle handlebars..

HD says the force applied to taller bars will break the bars at the hole where the wires come through,
but the Yaffe clamp is only for the top.. It looks like it re uses the stock lower parts of the risers.. So its still not really helping for strength in that area.. I also have an email into LA Choppers to ask them, I feel they should have recommended it when I purchased the bars if they are worried about it..

Im changing out the bushings to poly also..

Anyway guys, thanks for the opinions if you have any.. Great site..

Stay safe!

I had intermittent problems with my throttle after my Ape install. Going into limp mode, check engine light on and engine bogging down. I finally removed the connector and spliced the wires. I really didn't want to do that but I didn't want problems on the road in the middle of nowhere being stuck on the side of the road. Haven't had problems since. Just food for thought when you do this upgrade.
