Ok a little more information is needed do you want to stay duals or 2 into 1 and do you have a small or big budget ???

I ordered everything through Fuel Moto, FP3 tuner, ceramic coated Jackpot header , Vance and Hines oversized 4.5" titan slip ons and fuel motos billet AC. I love the way it sounds and everyone comments on the deep tone it has. I believe paid $1416 delivered.

rickgu- your going to love the ceramic header! it kills the heat buildup on your right thigh!
Fuel Moto is one of the best MC companies out there to do business with!

I went with D&D headers and a V&H Destroyer exhaust with a Thunder Max Auto Tune. 2500.00 total installed price. Adds a good kick in the pants.

For my 16 SGS I put on S&S Power Tune Duals and CFR pipes with a SE Heavy Breather intake and their tuner. Went with the headers instead of true duals so I don't lose the torque. Was impressed at the deep low rumble out of these and they bark nicely when you get on it. Nothing about the tone is harsh. Love the setup. Got 82.6 hp and 103 ft lbs of torque.

I'm gonna check out fuel moto thanks guys

Want to stay true duals. Budget is mid road not looking to do anything too crazy.

You are correct, I've already noticed the difference.

Budget minded exhaust.....
B&E Performance. www.superflomufflers.com
He sells on his website as well as ebay.
He takes stock head pipes and de-cats it (not a great performance gain but really reduces the heat on your leg/feet) and he also modifies stock mufflers with better baffles. Not really noticeable at idle but really sounds good twisting up.

Both de-catted head pipe and modified mufflers were shipped to me for about $135 each ($270). You keep your stock items. Quick and easy installation.

I have videos in the exhaust section if you want to hear mine.
Edit to add link to thread with my videos:

Like you I do not have a setup yet but are looking for the same thing. Not sure what your middle of the road cost is but here is what I have found out so far:

Headers mufflers tuner air filter self install 1200-1500
Dealer install on above+ dyno 2400+
I have narrowed it down to Rush and Feulmotto jack pot and or CFR mufflers.

I am uncertian on 2-1-2 or duals and ceramic vs steel headers and the mufflers.

My concerns are:
Do ceramic really lower heat vs steel or does removing the cat provide the biggest reductions and not really noticeable after that

Power Vision vs fp3 tuner
I think there are really minor pros and cons to all the above.

More important is:
Low end power loss with duals vs 2-1-2 is there really a noticeable felt difference? There is a paper difference not sure it can be felt though

Mufflers this is the most subjective but the reason we all want to change "the sound" I want something that is deep and can be felt and don't care how loud when I crack it but Do Not want constant loud especially when cruising.

So far Big Louie and CFR seem to be front runners for me I just don't want loud all the time

Going all Fuel Moto myself, I just cannot decide on the 4" or the Pro Touring. Not sure if the 4" will be loud enough with the xxx headers or if the Pro Touring will be too loud... I hate decisions...

I'm going to do the work myself. I'm a mechanic by trade. I agree I want a nice deep tone but I don't want it annoying loud. I was looking into the cfr's as well but was also looking at the rineharts. For the minimal engine mods I'm going to do. I think I'm going with the fp3. Seems nice and simple to use. Cant decide on true duals or 2-1-2 either I like the way the true duals look but don't want to sacrifice torque. I'm new to the harley world I appreciate as much info as I can't get.

One would RARELY "lose" torque when going from an OEM "Gubment choked" header to a decent quality a/market header. All the companies that manufacture these performance parts would go out of biz if they didn't offer some sort of decent gain.

I don't know about the Rineharts (I hear they're pretty good), but when I changed out my whole OEM Intake & Exhaust set-up to what I have now (see my sig. below), it made a WORLD of difference. Did tons of research before I even ordered my SGS. When we first stuck my SGS on the dyno after putting 2500 miles on the stock bike, my stock rear wheel TQ was not quite 89, even though H-D will tell you a Rushmore 103" motor puts out a tad over 104 ft.lbs.(The Moco dyno'd the motor in a dyno room on a stand with just about "0" REAL WORLD TYPE load).

I listened carefully but understood very little when my dyno guy started discussing terms like "Optimum Backpressure" "ACFM" "CFM" & "ICFM". When we got to the end of my little class, he recommended some STAGE 1 stuff to me...

I took her home and finally ordered & installed the Stage One parts that my dynamometer guy had suggested to me... Trailered her back 2 weeks later & had her dyno-tuned on his $60,000 multi fanned Dyno-Jet motorcycle chassis dynamometer. I watched him go through the complete process. He stopped after each run and explained what he was doing and why. Answered any questions I had. After the final run, and all the VE tables were done, he encouraged me to take it for a good long test ride and bring it back and let him know how it felt. I did, and was absolutely amazed. I then paid the very reasonable bill and he explained my charts and tables. He also discussed further upgrades if I was so inclined.
Cams & headwork "may" come later, but for now I'm quite pleased with my SGS.

Then I rode a totally different animal home while my wife followed me home towing our enclosed trailer. Entirely smoother & much more powerful than the Harley "tractor" I originally purchased. Pulled stronger in every gear at the RPM's I ride at. From right off idle to almost 5K. It even gets better fuel mileage than it did when it was stock. My wife said she could tell I was having fun on the ride home.

Do it right, and it'll put a smile on your face.

Ceramic coated pipes are still steel or titanium pipes, and yes the ceramic coating helps take away the heat you feel. ANY exhaust system can get and benefit from having the headpipes ceramic coated.
