No Power to my ECM or Fuel pump!

I recently did a bar swap on my 2007 FLHX. Got everything all buttoned up and back together only to find my bike would not start. All my lights and controls work just fine but I do not get any power to my ecm (my fuel pak wont light up) and my fuel pump will not prime. Ive checked all the fuses and they are fine. My run/stop switch will allow the bike to turn over in run but not in stop (like it is supposed to do) but I dont get any power to either the fuel pump or ecm. I was told that I may have messed up a wire in my run/stop switch, but my question is, how can it still tell the bike to turn over or not but not allow power to those two sources? HELP! FYI Harley stealership said to go through every single wire on the bike.

The switches on the handlebars send CAN bus computer signals. They do not directly switch stuff on and off. That's how they get a pile of switches and only a few wires.

Did you remove power by pulling the main fuse before take things apart as explained in the manual?

If not, follow the instructions (so the alarm does not go off) to pull the main fuse for a minute or so and then put it back. Maybe the computers will reset if you are lucky.

I just disconnected the battery, I did not pull the main fuse. I will try that tonigt

I plan to go through the wires and go over everything I messed with tonight and tomorrow. I did not pull the main fuse yet but I did have the battery disconnected until the point of putting everything back together. I'll try the fuse as well thank you.

I think disconnecting the battery accomplished the same thing as far as working on the bike goes. H-D just says to pull the main fuse because it is easier. But you can try a fuse power cycle now anyway. Good luck.

Thank you gentlemen. It came down to me being a dumbass and not doing things the right way the first time. I used butt connectors for my splice job and low and behold when I cut away the cover I had four wires just fall out of the butt connectors. I rewired the separated connections and everything works great.

Now to start soldering and heat shrinking and do it the right way. My apologies for wasting your time because of my own inept wiring capabilities.

It looks way scarier than it really is.

No Power to my ECM or Fuel pump!

My buddy just had this problem. Turns out his kill switch wire was pinched.

Glad you figured it out... and yes... sometimes taking the 'easy way out' costs your more time in the end. I tend to stay away from crimps altogether... not a big fan of them for reasons you found out....

How you liking hi flow with street canons ?
I have them great preformance but wish had more noise
