Hello

Been trying to get bars on my bike for over a year just couldn't seem to get what I wanted as they were always back ordered. Gave up on the Yaffees I wanted after waiting almost 9 months. While at Arizona bike week I looked at Torch Industries bars and they are custom made and high quality. You have a choice now if you don't want to wait as they get these done by order of what you want. Choices of 1 1/4, 1 1/2 inch pipe in a couple different styles of bars. Being tall in the saddle I have to have 16 inch bars and yes I tried shorter ones on a couple different friends bikes without success. I got the 16 inch 1 1/2 bars and they are massive but fit me really good.

Brother Spazz volunteered to help me with the install so a trip to Reno was planned. So last Sunday ( Fathers day) we did the install or should I say Spazz installed and I did the flunky work. Worst part about 16 inch bars you have to change all the hydraulic lines and then bleed them so for the clutch we had to remove the exhaust to bleed the clutch. A special note is we were given 12inch wire extensions but you will need the 15 inch to do this job right so we had to wait for the Reno dealership to open to get the longer wires. We had issue with one wiring harness on the right bars with the plugs being to close to each other and getting them through the bars with the throttle by wiring harness. Not sure Spazz will ever volunteer to help with 16 or bigger bars again.(Love ya Brother) I got the 1 1/2 inch bars thinking it would be a lot easier but it's where they choke back 1 at the bar clamp that got us fitting those connectors Through.

After getting all the lines bleed and everything back together we had to do some clearance work for the 1 1/2 bars around the lower part of the fairing so make sure you have a dremel tool handy with cut off wheel and a sanding drum. I replaced the stock hydraulic with stainless braided because I like the chrome look (lol). Everyone we talked to at the dealerships had advised we would have to take it in to bleed the ABS but after bleeding the lines I'm thinking you don't have to do that because everything works good.

Very happy how these turned out now to get some miles with them. And yes I can use the stock mirrors was wondering if I would be able to but it worked out.

Thanks again to Spazz for taking time to help me get this done while fighting a nasty head cold.

No problem Tom.... And yes... I am home early from vacation... both Dana and I are still sick!!!!

I have to say that MURPHY was all over this install from the jump.... I couldn't believe it! Took WAY LONGER than expected... but we did complete the task and EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!

Now.. for the ABS lines.... just from info I have learned... the ABS ( front ) is a CLOSED LOOP system UNTIL you APPLY POWER... which means you can bleed ALL LINES from the reservoir, back to the ABS unit.. and back forward thru the two front brake lines AS LONG AS YOU DONT APPLY POWER. We did this with a MightyVac... worked FLAWLESSY.

Overall... they are not any harder to install ( speaking of JUST the bars )... just clearancing the inner faring and ignition cowl is a bit more time.

Glad you like them Tom... they fit you well and look KILLER!!!!

Looking good Tom. I think those bars would be over my head, lol.

Thinking I may need to get a pair of heated gloves for the colder weather rides now lol I have a little room before they are over my head. The wife told me it was fathers day so I never even questioned it my bad I guess lol. They got me a Gopro so another toy to learn how to use.

Great looking bars Tom ! You and Spazz did a great job indeed !
I know if I stripped it down that far... I might as well throw it away... ha

Well after some riding and little adjustment I have full use of the mirrors with these bars. Just have to look under my arms instead of over. I would suggest these bars to anybody looking for new ones. Wait time is 4 to 6 weeks according to their web site. I feel like I have better control also in slow speed turns and maneuvering. Yes I have been out playing around and getting use to them.

Loving these bars, thinking of getting the 14" in black, 1.5 diameter. What kind of trimming did you have to do to the inner fairing? Also, did you keep the stock riser bushings or go with a polyurethane set?

Sorry been pretty busy today after working night shift. You will have to clearance around where the bars come out of the clamp and then turn up. If you look at your bars now they are pretty tight to the inner fairing and the piece that goes under the ignition switch. If you don't clearance it some and I'm not saying a lot. Once you get the bars on and you put the inner fairing back in place over the bars you will see what I mean. Dremel too and a sanding disc and just go easy you can't even tell. You have to remember you have at least a quarter inch extra to fit in there. Pretty handy to have a friend to hold the inner fairing while you trim a couple time getting it to just clear. Switch cover is the same just go slow and take your time test fitting. To be honest I still have a little to do on the switch cover to make it fit right but we were running out of time so it fit's ok but when I get time I will complete the job.

Good luck and if you need any help PM me and I'll give you my number.

I should also add the Harley risers in poly. Make sure you get the Harley ones because they come with a new longer bolt.
