Purchased a set of Arlen Ness angled saddlebags and the quality was less than expected. Long story short, have to sand the seam lines and injection tube marks along with some other imperfections.

How are the pro's doing the sanding? By hand OR with RO sanders? Tried using a die grinder with a sanding wheel and paper and the heat melts the plastic and it sticks back to itself

DA sander will be your best bet...

By experience you have a use a random orbital sander approx grit 150-180 to start. Then move to 320-400
A die grinder travels at 20,000 -25,000 rpm and will create to much heat which will melt
the abs. When buying the sandpaper ask for a open coat sandpaper which will resist clogging
on the sander.
