OK, so without getting into the "loud pipes save lives" discussion, basically I'm looking for a set of good flowing slip-on mufflers that aren't much louder than stock. I have a K&N filter in the housing and wouldn't mind helping the exhaust side of the engine as well along with adding a tuner. Thanks for the suggestions.

+2 on the CVO running them on mine sounds a lot better than stock

is the CVO head pipes the same as SGS?

The CVO muffs slide right onto the stock 103" head pipes. Get 2014 or newer CVO mufflers. They are equal flow on both left and right muffs and flow very well. Mine are from a 2014 CVO Ultra. They are 4" dia and come with heat shields.

I'm looking at replacing my head pipe with a fuel moto system and like others Id rather not piss off my neighbors, these might be the ticket. One set on fleabay has the whole exhaust system, only thing that looks different is the x-over pipe looks like its chromed. My 94 softail had a bassani system, was too loud for me and as far as I can tell it provided no extra power.

After reading the reviews I went with the Screaming Eagle Street Cannons. They get great reviews and I've been happy with them. They are CARB compliant (Republic of CA). Good bark when you twist the throttle but not so loud that you get auditory fatigue after riding. They were still loud enough to set off car alarms at work. I think the balance of bark vs too loud is a good fit.

After running my CVO muffs for one year I decided I needed a bit more rumble so I also installed the Screaming Eagle Street Cannons and they are just the ticket. Your assessment of them is spot on! I will say that the sound has opened up a bit but in a good way in the 5k miles I've had them on the bike. I like them!

Enjoy,

Blues
