Have you changed out the lifters yet?
The rattle between 2600 - 3000rpm sounds very familiar and being at cruising speed was very annoying.
Had the same with my SG, change lifter to the new SE version and seemed to quiet it down.

Haven't done it yet... but I will be soon... my noise is still there. . No worse or better... I need to get new pushrods before I tear into it

BTW... I have SE lifters
