Is this a good price for a SG Special?

I'm shopping for a new 2016 SG Special and got a price from A local HD Dealer in So Cal for $26K OTD. It's so hard to get numbers out out the door pricing from dealers. I don't want them to check my credit before giving me an OTD.

Is that with tax included? I would say that 26k is high, but I do not know what the market is like in SoCal.
What color? Candy finish?
If it is a not-black bike and includes sales tax, or if it is a candy paint scheme, then 26k is ok. If either of those are not true, then they are asking more than MSRP, which I think is too much.
Are they offering any other sweet incentives for that price?

Seems a little high unless that's with tax. I noticed the new candy paint is a lot more then it should be is it one of these???

The price I received is out the door, tax & lic included. The color is on a Vivid Black. MSRP is $26,700.

Thanks for your advice.

I paid 28,000 out the door with the 3 year extended warranty and service plan for my denim 16 Street glide special.

Not sure how you came up with MSRP of $26,700. According to the Harley web site a 2016 Street Glide Special has an MSRP of $23,199(Vivid Black)+$200(California Emissions)+$425(Freight)=$23,834. Assuming 8% sales tax of $1906.72 that brings you to $25,740.72. Not sure what you pay for title and license but $26,000 OTD sounds like your getting the bike for MSRP.

Enjoy your ride. Do you take delivery today?

I'm curious if anyone has gotten a smoking deal on a 2015 lately.

It is always interesting to me when I travel around how different dealers put tags on bikes showing MSRP that is WAY higher than the actual MSRP as seems to be the case here. Bernman is correct it is very easy for some dealers to state MSRP is X (which is $3K higher than actual) then they offer to sell you the bike for $3K off their "MSRP" and people feel like they are getting a steal.....when in reality they are actually paying MSRP, then they can tell all their friends what a great deal they are getting.

For instance I was recently traveling through Carson city, stopped into the dealer there and was looking for a particular part, went to the counter and asked to see the catalog.......guess what, no prices listed in the catalog and they quoted me 20% over that actual MSRP, but because I was traveling through and needed it they would give me 20% off........now wasn't that nice of them ...........Just sayin'

Yep- I've seen the same thing. I guess some dealers do what they can get away with- certainly shows you can't trust all dealers with pricing. I understand dealers need to make money- and should max their profits when possible, but making up their own MSRP is a very deceptive start.

I've got a 2015 street glide special thing about 2015 road glide special has anyone tried one of those the dealer wants 4500.00 and bike i road it was a lot of wind hitting me in the face .

Which bike was a lot of wind hitting you in the face?

Road glide

Well I'm greatly pleased with my 7" windshield and my fork fangs that I hardly feel any wind on my head. I would not trade the SG for an RG if that were the case. I like the way the RG looks but when I sat on it I didn't like how far the fairing etc. was away from me. I like that my hands are blocked by the wind with the SG batwing. But it is all personal opinion.

Yeah I'm not sure I've got my sgs all fixed up finding it hard to pull the trigger on the road glide. I can swap most of the stuff that I put on it. My last bike i couldn't get it fast enough. I guess I'm just not into it enough. Thanks for your help !!

I just bought a 2015 SG on 9/11/2015 and gave $21g for it they threw in the backrest and Quick detach brackets $450 along with a new Helmet $210 I could've gotten a 2016 but they didn't want to stray from $23,600. They only difference in the 15 & 16 is the color options. I live in Kansas city, MO

Today I was looking at a 2016 regular streetglide. Tag on the bike said $29,000 before tax. I think its high up here in Canada because of our dollar.
