Installing Paul Yaffe 12"bars

I noticed in the pic of the service manual that the right hand control plug looks like a wider long plug as opposed to the left hand plug. Is that just a general drawing? Based on what your saying they should both fit thru the bars. Thx.
A good illustration to see what they look like is looking at the NAMZ extensions on their site... they are small and both sides will fit thru the bars no problem. Don't be confused by the lack of wiring on the extensions... Apparently multiple controls can go thru just a few wires... just like the factory harness... very few wires on the hand controls for what they do.

Thx. I used their extensions when I did my '11 heritage, worked like a charm. I'm sure these will be fine too. Can't wait...

They will be fine... just reference their site to give you a visual on size... Maybe 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick... seriously

I found a set of LA Choppers Prime Apes on a website, about 125 bux less than the PY's. They look identical, was wondering if you know of any difference in quality, anyone you know used'em?

You will have to de-pin connector, it's not hard. I had never done it,but watched a couple of utube videos. I used a large paper clip to get mine apart.

I can't give you specifics.... sorry... I just know I went with what I wanted....

Is the HD kit plug and play like the NAMZ Kit? I only saw a kit that needs connector assembly from them. Also is it possible to install heated hand grips all wires inside the bars as well? I'm in the northeast and they would come in handy. Want to do it all at the same time if possible. It looks like all connections are there already, plug and play. Thx.

It's gonna be hard enuf with TBW and hand controls... but can be done from what I have heard

I may give it try. I'm looking for a video or something on the install of the grips. The instructions are awful. Can't follow them at all.

Grips are easy... if you have the ones that are indexed with a lip for the left side... they clamp into the hand controls with no need for glue... then you just orient the throttle side to match the left side

Hardest part is the trip switch... easy to break if not done properly..... don't ask how I know...

hey guys been watching the yaffe 12" install pretty closely. I'm waiting for some parts to finish up my stage 1.
the bar swap is next but I didn't want too much going on at one time. I'm going to do heated grips as well and I believe
Paul65k did a swap with heated grips and was able to get the wires inside.
I want to double check that part number that tracerace posted I thought that was different than the one Harley recommended on their site.the one they sent with my grips was 69200723

Actually the part HD has listed as needed on their site is 69200722. They sent me 69200723 Hmmmm.

image.jpgI got the part number off the bag it came in and there already installed and working.

The harness you have looks like it is required to do heated grips. You will also need the extensions. The extensions are for the controls on your bars. The radio, turn signals, cruise, ect.

Your right. I also have the 8 inch namz. I think that's all I'm gonna need.
