I had received my speaker lids around Tuesday last week. I opened them up at the counter to 'look' at them. They come inside and wrapped foam-type bubble wrap, taped and inside a plastic bag and then cushioned with a larger bubble wrap.

I was sooo excited to get them I didn't really inspect them until last night. I have to send one back for finish imperfections....

Seems like the lid was packed a bit 'wet' and the paint has the wrap texture in the paint!!!! I thought is was just dust at first, but wiping it off isn't the fix.

This was a hard picture to get, but you can see the 'wrinkles' in the paint, but they are not 'felt' as with texture... they are smooth as a baby's butt....

Look around the light reflections... these are BRAND NEW....

Not sure about wax or polish.... I didn't want to try being brand new and if I let them try... and it's screwed... then I have no issues getting a new one. I don't want any 'issues' with them saying I messed it up... I know they wouldn't do that to me, but want them to see it first-hand at the dealer.

It may come out with polish, but before I do anything, I am bringing it back down to Chester's and let them inspect it.

It's not a $20 part... over $500 for lids... I want them RIGHT.

Are they Harley lids?

Oh yeah....

Plus a notice in the box.....

Parts are not fully cured for 30-60 days.... THEN WHY PACK THEM IN FRICKEN BUBBLE WRAP!?!?!

EDIT:

LOL!!!

Just read the rest of the 'NOTICE' ( after I posted this)

Patterns are normal and need to be warmed up....

Bringing them inside now...

Guess I jumped the gun...llol!

Your spazzing over the lids. So what set up are you going with should rock for sure.
I'm going to take a day off next week or so and ride couple of hours down where I bought my amp & speakers and let them install them. I started looking at everything and I decided not going to do it. I'll pay 150.00 for the install.

I have been back and forth on MANY speakers/amps... PLENTY of research done on my part for sure.... SEVERAL emails/msgs to MANY installers and owners.... I nailed what I am looking for for sound and quality.

Focal 165KRC's in the fairing
Focal 570AC's in the bags
Arc Audio XDI 600.4

It's all plug and play complete with ALL wiring.... oscilloscope tuned BEFORE I receive it. I am shooting for end of March to pull the trigger.

This is a package deal from www.soundzcustomz.com and Peter Jensen ( owner ) has been more than happy to respond to all my questions and concerns with extensive/detailed emails and VERY quick replies.. within hours if not sooner.

Will be a great sound for sure. The Arc 600/4 is top shelf!! With that amp gives you a lot of head room.
I'm interested in seeing how you run your wires from speakers. I guess you will be using fast connections?

Hope those marks rub out ok but I would have done the same thing and not read the little note until I was showing the dealer. I think you may get to hear a little of what your will sound like sooner "LOL"

I will document everything... as far as connections... I am not sure since I don't have the system yet. I may have to mod some stuff as I see fit for me... but everything will be captured and posted.

I would have not read the notice either and probably blew a gasket on some poor parts guy. LOL

That sucks, I didn't notice anything in my lids when I got them, but it was a lot warmer out. As you know I have the same set up as your getting and will tell you and everyone one else that it is bad ass.

I totally understand wanting to do a side by side, it's a lot of money to spend.

UDPATE!!!!! The outcome is GREAT!

After a day of sitting INSIDE the house at 71 degrees... I applied some heat with a hair dryer at about 8-10" on high heat... then gently polished the blemished areas.....

THEY ARE GONE!!!! Whew!

Amazing...the dealer was actually right for a change. Good to know as I will be looking into buying those same lids for my SGS, in addition to a new Tour Pak....

Nice happy to see it rubbed out, now I can't wait to get this stuff installed.

Worst part is it's another week or so out before we can get it one.
