I need a recommendation for highways bars and mounts that will allow me to have my heel on the floorboard, and ball of my foot supported by peg, and the pegs should hug bike as close as possible without interfering with foot controls. I don't want my feet bowed outwards. The placement of the peg needs to be right where the bottom of the engine guard makes the bend. Thx.

I have my pegs mounted as low as they can at that lower engine guard bend and contoured inward so I can pivot on the ball my foot on and off the foot controls. I wear a 13 boot, so I don't have a lot foot room, while still being able to be quick on the controls. I bought the cheap generic HD brand highway pegs Part number 49144-86, $39.99 and so far, so good. I plan to extend the foot controls eventually, but that is at the bottom of my list for now.

additionally, highway pegs are expensive, if you are unsure of what you want, try to buy used at a swap meet or craigslist, your HD dealer may have some take-offs from a trade in he will give you. I refuse to spend $100 plus on a part that doesn't help me go faster.

Your height ( leg length ) will also determine how short or long your highway peg mount should be... keep this in mind. Im short at 5'7"... I use the 360 HD mount and have it mounted a bit low ( for ground clearance ) and pivoted up to be able to pivot on my heal off and on the pegs without interfering with foot controls. I like the design and adjustability.

I had a short set before and found that the most comfortable position for them was way too close to foot controls ( mainly foot brake ) and caught myself pushing on the peg with my toe.... they came off that day and swapped em.

Pic for reference:

I have mine mounted down close to the bend and I am able to rest my heel on the floorboard and toe on the peg. It's comfortable for me and gives me more options to move my legs around on long rides. This is the only pic I have of them right now.
