I have a 2014 SG with just 4" slip on rineharts, and I'm thinking of upgrading to a full exhaust. I've narrowed it down to 3 systems. The V&H Pro Pipe w/comp baffle, The Bassani Road Rage 2 into 1, or the Slimline Duals Rinehart Header. I've heard the V&H and Bassani systems, but I haven't heard the slimline duals in person, probably cause they won't sell to California but I can get around that. What do you guys think? My biggest draw back is I already have 650 invested in the slip ons and I dont want to spend another 650 on the Slimline duals and not like them. Anybody have good quality sound bites of that system? Again what do you guys think?

I have videos of my Pro Pipe with standard and comp baffles... check them out in the exhaust section. I also pulled my comp baffle due to loss of low end and decel pop. My sled runs much better with standard baffle over comp

For what you have... drop the PowerDuals headpipe on it and use your slip ons.... you gain alot over stock headpipe

Are you looking for more performance in your pipes or just style?

I really like my pro-pipe 2:1. Looks good, less exhaust plumbing (so I can do things like adjust my belt w/o taking a muffler off), easy to tune w/ FP3 (great canned tune BTW) and the bike has great throttle response. They should good when you get on it but on the highway they have a nice rumble.

I have a Rinehart True-dual header running to my RH 4" cans and love it - I listened to probably 30 combinations at the dealership before I purchased. Not sure why or how this is, but you can use your RH cans on about any header, but you cannot use other cans on a Rinehart header. Something to do with the staggered pipe size of the header or so I'm told.

I just put a Fuel Moto Jackpot ceramic header pipe on my bike. It was only $399. It allows you to use the stock heat shields to maintain the stock look. I don't know how set you are on "true duals", but, the cross over design this pipe has, will help with back pressure. The ceramic coating is in and out, and has dropped my riding heat by at least half. Might be something to consider, since you've spent so much already.

If you don't mind, what don't you like about the 4" Rineharts; not loud enough for you? Just curious because if they are not loud enough, you might consider just getting a different header since if you are running them with your OEM header that still had the catalytic converter, this will significantly reduce the amount of sound that you'll get out of the system since the cat really "muffles" the sound.

That being said, every had very good feedback regarding all three systems you are considering in terms of both sound and performance so I feel like you'd probably be happy with either of the three.

I'm with Bafflingbs on this, What ever you decide to get-seriously think about ceramic coated headpipe. You can't believe the heat reduction this feature offers!

Lindsey,
I love the way they look, but I want more sound and I'm sure performance will come along with that as well. I would definatley have it tuned. My initial plan was to purchase the pro pipe when i got the bike but California HD Dealership said it would void the manufacturer warranty so I settle for the best slip ons the could offer.

Bryan0994,
I guess a little of both, but I want more noise than what these slip ons are making.

If your mainly looking for more noise, change your head pipe. By changing your head pipe and getting rid of the cat you will increase the volume and will also decrease the heat. You can always just decat your existing head pipe, if you have a welder it's a free upgrade. That is what I did.

A friend of mine did that and it's OK but not loud enough for me....

Then get the pro pipe.... put it on yourself and run it... watch my videos.... I love the sound and performance increase

Anytime I hear about dealerships making the "void warranty claim" I always encourage folks to read up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The following link might help answer any questions you may have about what will / will not void your warranty.

Another good thing about the pro-pipe is that it was the least expensive full exhaust I found. I was able to get that and the FP3 tuner for $812 total. Most slip-ons alone are more than the pro-pipe. I see other complaining about fit and function of other exhaust. My pro-pipe fits very well, I have had it on and off 3 times already, pretty easy.

There is one bad thing though (reason why I have had it off a couple times). To get to the clutch bleeder you have to take the chrome cover off and the pipe is in the way.

Antoneyo, by doing the head pipe I suggested, my sound level increased by about 50%. As soon as you eliminate the stock headers you eliminate the restrictive catalytic converters. These are not only power robbing, but also sound robbing as well.

Very respectfully I beg to differ on your statement that the catalytic converter is power robbing. Sound deading yes. The exhaust flow through the converter is not restrictive unless a high HP/TQ engine is built. Stage one or stage two are ok with the cat. The cat issue centers around heat and that is why folks are eliminating them. Case in point 600 HP Cameros and Stangs run factory cats with no issues

Best,

Blues

Blues, I'm not a mechanic, so, you could be right. But, if it is enough to stop sound, why not escaping gasses? Torque, most likely will not be as affected as HP, at higher RPM'S. Again, I am not a mechanic. Also, the mechanics who sold me on the idea, told me that this is where you can gain the most, without cracking the case.

Great reply! The cat is of a waffle design and is the same as used in 110" engines. Once again stage one and two will not be affected by the flow of the cat but sound will. Heat is the issue. There is a lot of misinformation out there even among seasoned mechanics. I have have done a ton of research Hulkss and others run the stock head pipe and are happy with its performance. Should you choose a different path please report you findings so I may add your information to my catalog of information.
Great thing about this forum is that we can go back and forth and not necessarily agree but we have shared valuable information that benefits us all.
I personally run a stock head pipe with CVO mufflers, Fuelmoto intake, and stage one download. My bike rocks, at least to my satisfaction. I am a veteran of many old school builds and understand the dynamics of HD engines as well a street rod engines of which I have had many and still do. That said I know know I'm not always right.

Have a great day,

Blues
