Just ordered a set of Cobra power port true duals and some V&H 450 Titans for the glide. The guy (Tom D.) at AmericanClassicMotors said they are totally separate header pipes all the way (which after research they are not). There is a crossover piece between the two (to help retain low end torque ?) Well, i dont have them in hand so not sure til they show up in a week. Maybe its better with the crossover for sound or performance ? Anybody have these ? Sure would like to know if I need to send them back before i install them. Thanks for any help.

From what I've read, a crossover really helps with low end torque but I would not expect any sound change. I know 2-1 tends to lose high end power but I don't know about 2-1 vs 2-2 with crossover vs 2-2

If you are coming off the OEM headpipe with Cat, there WILL be a sound change even if you were still using the stock slip ons (which your not). My ceramic coated Rush True Duals have a cross over plenum just past the O2 sensors.

Ok, took 1 hour to remove the stock headers and mufflers. About 2 1/2 hours for the new install. Took a 3 minute ride but will take it out Sunday for a test. Sounds maybe 25% louder and definitely has a much deeper tone at idle and under acceleration. More details tomorrow. Happy for now.

With the crossover, the right pipe does most of the work. I felt very little flow from the left side. I can't compare because I haven't ridden crossover vs true duals, but I can say the true duals sound better. I'm not really into getting every last morsel of HP out of it, so I'd prefer true duals after hearing the difference.

Winter build includes a new Python Rayzor, if I ever get time to get the bike in the paint booth.

OK, this setup really rocks! Loud when you get on it but no drone sound at speed on the freeway. The crossover is tiny (1/2" or so) so it is almost a true dual setup. Love the v&H Titans sound. Still hear the tunes on the freeway. Power gains are minimal but i didnt feel any loss of low end. This being my first Harley, i need to say, the quality of design and hardware are excellent. I am impressed. Decel popping in minor so no fuel programmer for me at this point.
