I made my decision and am going with V&H Dresser Duals. I also decided to do this myself.

I plan on buying, just in case, 2 circlips, 2 stock header exhaust gaskets, and 2 screaming eagle header exhaust gaskets (in case the stock piss me off too much).

So, aside from making sure I understand everything in the pipe instructions and the service manual, what else should I have on hand; even if it is just in case.

Thanks.

Torque wrench in inches. Don't overtighten, pipe to head. Going to need a swivel, cause of angle.

One key item...( cuz all the other essentials have been posted )

YOUR FAVORITE BEVERAGE TO PARTAKE UPON COMPLETION!

OK, dumb question. Aren't all of the bolts going to be subjected to heat? I mean I'm installing heat shields all along the pipes. Or do I just not worry about the two mounting brackets and use a thread locking compound on those only? As for the beverage, I am NEVER without my selection of bourbon at home and I never need an excuse for a nip!

+1 one the beverage, anti seize compound on anything attached to the header pipe mount bolts, maybe I over stated it a bit, but I always worry about snapping bolts on high temp applications. I personally will brush on anti-seize on the worm screw of the clamps for the heat shields, but that's me. the stand off bracket is probably ok, I would use a high temp thread lock compound.

I will be installing S&S Power Tune duals this weekend. I took some advice from others on this forum and bought the Jims Exhaust Gasket Tool #788 just in case. Also, purchased Genuine James Gasket Kit # JGI-65324-83-KWG2. Includes 2 stock gaskets, 2 header flange retaining clips, and 4 flange nuts. The tool was 35.00 and the kit was 15.00. I figured why not can't hurt to have on hand. Good luck with your install....
