Have you experienced problems with forward breathers like HD's HB Elite?

I'm still thinking about getting a Stage 1 air cleaner and like the forward facing HD HB Elite because its low profile won't hit my knee/shin, and I like the looks of them. However, I've read one or two posts where someone says that their HB emits engine noise, whatever that means. So... have any of you experienced this or other negative aspects of having a 90 degree breather like this on your Street Glides?

IF you get it... MAKE SURE you get the micron rain sock with it... or you will be sorry if you get caught in the rain... don't ask how I know.....softtail I had left me stranded

The only negative I can come with is that it is aluminum and seems to transmit a lot of heat to your leg. My natural position on the the bike puts my right leg slightly touching the 90 degree bend in the air cleaner. If I relax on the bike it wakes me up real quick when my leg touches the air cleaner. Planning on adding floorboard extensions, which should help.

Other than that, I don't notice any additional noise and I love the looks.

It's a big cone air filter right in front of you, you will hear intake noise when you open the throttle, but that is all.

I've had no issues with mine. Just like slingshot said, you will hear the intake when you open the throttle hard.

The only issue is if you put lowers on your bike, there is a regular sized one AND a shorter version, you'll need the shorter one. Other than that I've had mine about a year now, no issues.
