Fluid levels.

So I have done some checking and there seems to be an array of information. How should the fluid levels be checked. I am mainly asking about the trans but knowing all would be good.

For the trans the 2015 owners manual says room temp, on side stand with dipstick all the way down. I called my dealer and he said hot, level (not on side stand) and dipstick to the threads (just resting).

My manual is a 2014 touring and I have a 2015 SGS but I can't believe that changed.

I have done some research and I keep getting different answers. How the hell do I know who is right!

Pull into gas station with bike fully warmed up, put bike on side stand while running, let it idle while you take off your helmet, turn off. Fill with gas. Check engine oil level while still on side stand.

\\+1, since when does checking your oil become a two man job?

Oil I got I am not a complete dumb ass no matter what my ex-wife says. I was more concerned about the trans oil.
