I have to admit, even having a tach to check with is very nice. My last bike, 12 Sporty, didn't even have one. Though if I remember correctly, I was probably shifting about the same on that.
However, when I feel like getting on the throttle, my shift points seem to be around 3000... But I feel good knowing that I can go much higher and be just fine.
