Extensions or Replacements?

Can someone tell me if these extend existing wiring by 4" or replace the factory wiring (plug and play) and extend it? This is directly off the Eastern Performance web site.

NHCX-J08 is what most use for 12" bars... I have used them on 6 different installs from 14 thru 16 Street and Road Glides

The last digit of the part number is the INCHES of the extensions... fyi

NHCX-J04 is 4"
NHCX-J12 is 12"

etc...
