Cobra PowerPort head pipe

The next install on my list this weekend is my new cobra PowerPort head pipe I got from fuel Moto

I got this head pipe from fuel Moto as part of a power package tuner intake and exhaust with the price discounts fuel Moto gives you when you put together a power package buying everything from fuel Moto was a no brainer

So far so good stock exhaust is removed getting ready to install the cobra head like

I picked up a brand-new set of gloves at work want to make sure I keep my greasy fingerprints off my new pipes

Halfway done at this point the new head pipe is installed and pretty much torqued down

All I have left to do is slip on the cans install the heat shields and put the foot board back in place

Well I had to stop and take a break I've been working on the bike all day I got the exhaust all done except for installing the heat shields. But you know I had to fire this bad boy up to see how it sounds. Once I got the SE Street Cannons reinstalled and every thing wiped down I fired it up and all I can say is WOW what a difference I think I will be able to wake the dead now she sounds mean and nasty I love it.

Once I get the heat shields installed I need to remove the FL-Vied-10s and then it's onto hooking up the Power Vision PV2 and flashing the custom tune from Fuel Moto. I have not made up my mind yet as to weather I want to install the tuner on the handle bar's it came with a nice mount or just flash the tune and go for a ride

Sorry Tom but once I took a break and popped a top I was done for the night
But here you go all done and back together

I even got my Challenge coin installed and took the bike for a ride wow what a difference runs great sounds great I'm a happy camper The preprogrammed tune from fuel Moto was spot on The bike feels like it has plenty of extra low-end and midrange torque and the sound coming out of the SE Street Cannons is music to my ears

As an overview these Cobra Power Port head pipe's were a fairly easy install and finish quality is top notch I went with this style head pipe over an X pipe design like the V&H power tune pipe because the H pipe design works real well for low & mid range torque The X pipe is designed more toward top end HP and the exhaust note tends to be more raspy wear as the H pipe has a deeper bark to it. HP wise the X pipe will make a little better HP #s but not enough to get excited about on a Stage 1 upgrade. And at $390 shipped they are at least $50 less then the V&H power duals and they also have a full size crossover pipe to get rid of the flattened stock HD pipe

So for any of you guy's looking to upgrade and ditch the stock catted head pipe I would recommend looking into the Cobra Power port pipe I'm glad I did

Thanks for the install pictures and overview wrap up. Very informative. My head pipe is stock but you've planted a seed ( Damn It. I swore the bike was done). I will see how the stock head pipe performs heat wise on this years Sturgis run. May have to be my winter project.

Hey Fluffy, did you use new port gaskets for the install ? I'm doing this with the same pipes next weekend and my glide has 500 miles on it so maybe i could re-use the gaskets? If they are cheap, i will just pick up a set.

No I reused the stock port gaskets with no problems
