Capping off crossover to make a cheap 2-1 system

Hey all quick question, I have a stock head pipe that's had the cat removed. I have noticed that I get very little flow from the left muffler. I have CFR slipons. So I was wondering if it would be ok to remove the whole left side of the exhaust and cap off the crossover. I have a fp3 tuner so I know I can flash a new 2-1 map. Any thoughts? Also do "real" 2-1 systems use a larger slipon? If so thinking that might be a restriction. Thanks. Rob

2-1 systems in fact have a larger slip... you only have 1.75" slip on either side of most duals.. so capping it off will produce a restriction for sure...though I have seen it done... not sure on performance by any means

I was thinking tho if I do get a little restriction it might not be bad since as of now with the decatted head pipe and being that the cfrs are 4 inch and straight through I might pick up a little power down low.

I'm interested in how this turns out norcalsvt. Keep us informed as to how this works out for you. I run CFR's and decatted head pipe as well. Are you planning on having it dyno tuned before and after?

Well I have the Vance and Hines fp3 tuner so all I would do is go into the "not listed" section of the map look up and choose "typical 2-1" header and hi flow map then auto tune it from there. What would you guys use as the cap? I have some ideas but anything helps.
