Cam choice for stock 103

I have just installed the Screaming Eagle Performance 255 cams in my 2013 Street Glide 103 and can report both the overall performance and increase in torque between 2,000-5,000 RPM is simply amazing. The bike runs much smoother and these cams really enhance the 103 engine.
I consulted with several Technicians prior to selecting the 255's and learned these are the cams of choice for most riders looking for increased torque for the aforementioned RPM range.
I could not imagine a better performing cam for the 103 engine.

Hope this helps,

I run the Woods 222's in my 103 and my buddy runs the SE 255's. The power comes on a little earlier with the 255's but the 222's power lasts a little higher into the rpms so it really depends on your riding style. Overall it's too close to call so either way you can't go wrong.

There are a lot of choices of bolt in cams for your bike. The SE 255 is a solid cam. I went with the Woods 555 cam but only because I've had good luck with them in the past and a good tune, which you will need after a cam upgrade. Happy hunting.

FWIW- I have SE 255's in my '12 SG. I couldn't be happier. The bike has plenty of torque and it's very smooth.
I used the SEPST and the HD tech that tuned the bike did a great job. No decel pop or heat issues.
One word of caution with this tuner. The default setting disables the ACR's. Apparently, not every HD tech knows
about this issue. I had the tuner installed a year ago and suffered with hot start issues until I read in another
forum about enabling the ACR's and discussed with the tech just prior to installing the cams. Problem solved.

The 2014 HO 103 comes stock with 255 cam profiles (just a tad less lift) for longer valve train life. I would not change the cam unless your bike fails to deliver enough power.
Here's some info from my SG.com blog: High Output 103 Engine

It is always better to use more throttle than modify the engine when extra power is not needed. Turn the throttle wide open a lot and let the engine rev through the power band. Make sure there is not enough power on tap before you modify.

The Night Prowler TW 222 are gold for the 103.
I ran the 255 in my Ultra, the 222 in the street glide, 222 much more torque than the 255 and pull hard to 5500 rpm. TW 222 Great cam if you keep it pretty much stock.
I changed out the 222 to the 777 with the full engine build wow!

I would go with a SE-254E over a SE-255 cam it is said that exact bikes the 254e will run away from the 255. And for what is worth I have 255's in my bike and they run ok but I should have went 254e's
