Boom Issue....Cannot get the Bluetooth to open???

I've got a 2015 SGS and cannot get the Bluetooth to open up in the Bluetooth setup. After hitting Home, Setup, Bluetooth setup I get 3 boxes that say Initializing, List paired Devices, and Ring Tones. After a few minutes I get a Bluetooth tab with a checkbox, I hit the checkbox and it goes back to the previous screen( Initializing, List Paired Devices and Ring Tones ) I have thought that I was not waiting long enough for it to Initialize so I left it on for 20 minutes and nothing! Anyone else have this problem? I have attempted this about a dozen times and am about ready to use a hammer on this "NOINFOTAINMENT SYSTEM"!

I also get the same screen when trying to use the COMM setup and hit "PHONE", exact same thing happens.

My Bluetooth worked last fall and the only thing that happened is my battery went completely dead for about 3 days about a month ago. Would that mess this up?

Anyone have any ideas?
 
Download and reload the Boombox firmware then try it again.
 
Downloaded the latest software update this evening and nothing changed. Still cannot get past the "Initializing" part of the Bluetooth setup.

HELP!
 
Went back and reset the Boom Infotainment system to the factory settings, attempted to start the Bluetooth and "nothing"! Still the same locked up "Initializing" process. Must have tried 20 times and the Bluetooth would not activate. Next I uploaded the latest software upgrade and tried about 20 more times with the same result. Going to the dealer on Tuesday even though when I called their "master" tech did not have a clue even how to do the restore??? Maybe I need to look for an audio repair shop???
 
If your phone shows in the list of paired devices, then delete it on system, also if your bike shows up in your phone, then delete it from your phone, then give it another try

Therein lies the issue......Cannot get past the "Initializing" of the Bluetooth. It just goes back to the "Bluetooth" checkbox and after checking the box it goes to "Initializing" and repeats the process over and over and over again. I cannot get the Bluetooth to turn on to see if there are any paired devices.
 
Try this: Pull the 50A main fuse on the bike and cycle the ignition on and off a couple of times to make sure you bleed off any stored power and then reinstall the fuse and see if that clears the glitch.
 
Oh the fun just continues.......After riding the bike to work yesterday, it sat for 8 hours. Got back on the bike to leave and it started just fine but the radio was dark. No sign of light but the sound works???? Rode it about 25 miles and still the same thing, dark radio. Got home and put it on the battery tender and this morning, the radio screen would turn a light gray, not really light up but better than before. Took the battery out this afternoon and the dealer checked it and said it was good. Unhooked anything not factory, Air Ride, Plasma Rods and FP3. Put it back in the bike and rode 40 miles with no change in the radio. Runs about 14.2 volts on the voltmeter when running. Right now I have it on the battery tender with the radio fuse removed. I'm going to charge the battery until the tender light turns green and then remove the tender and see if the battery is dead in the morning. I am afraid that the radio is draining the battery and may have some issues bigger than the bluetooth not turning on. Oh ya gotta love these things!
 
Sounds like your radio is kaputt! Does the bike have any warranty left?
 
Gremlins...the sneaky bastards. I had that happen a few times, then it never happened again. It would reset itself if I shut the bike off, but it only happened a few times. Not saying that's your problem but it does sound like what Mojo said...DOR...dead ole radio. Hopefully you still have warranty otherwise Sony makes a nice replacement that's probably much better. What I didn't like about the Sony was it used your smart phone for navigation and if you get in an area without phone coverage then you're hosed. Good luck....
 
Unfortunately no warranty left. Last Harley I bought started having issues right after the warranty went out and I traded for the 2015 SGS. The radios I have found are in the $800-$1000 range used! Anybody know anyone that repairs these fine pieces of electronic wizardry??
 
Well found out some really interesting info this morning regarding my "Infotainment " system. My local dealer had a seminar on the Boom Infotainment system this morning and I thought "why not go!" After the seminar I spoke with a Harley master tech who informed me that he has seen this happen to 3 or 4 radios in the last 6 months. It seems that if the battery voltage on the bike gets too low, it fries the radio????? He said the only option to fix was the Harley exchange program which is $650. And he stated" It will probably happen a lot as batteries in these bikes get older!" I probably would have re-thought my bike purchase if I thought the radio was to be replaced every time the security system runs down the battery! 25K for a bike that has a radio that gets fried when the battery gets too low??? Surely the MOCO is getting complaints from all over on this one!
 
Now it gets really strange!!! Had the outer fairing off today to add an air pressure gauge in the dash. While I had it apart I thought " why not just unplug the radio and see what happens?". Worked on the bike for about 2 hours and decided to plug the radio back in and see what happens....nothing! Still a blank screen. Unplugged it again and worked on the bike for about another hour. Started the bike and remembered that I unplugged the radio. Plugged the radio back up with the bike running and low and behold... the radio works like new! Bluetooth works like it should and everything seems to be fine now. Turned the bike off and on a couple of times and everything looked fine. Other than the bald spot from scratching my head for so long....I'm pleasantly surprised!

BUT WAIT......Turned the bike of and went in the house for about 20 minutes, went back out and turned the bike on and .......SAME AS BEFORE! Blank screen with sound coming from the radio!

Bad wiring/connection somewhere? Could also be a ground wire not making a good connection.
 
Damn the gremlins! Was out in the garage tonight downloading a new map into the Fp3 and when I turned on the bike the darned radio lit up like it is supposed to! The warning notice came up and it seemed to work like it was new. Started the bike a few times and it worked every time! All this after the stealer told me that I needed to spend $650 for an exchange radio!!! Guess now I'm gonna check every wire on the bike to verify all the connections are good to eliminate that. All this is after I rode it with a dark screen for about 100 miles on Sunday afternoon. I guess the lesson here is ....don't trust the stealership when they try to sell you a new radio if this happens to you! I'll keep my fingers crossed and see how long it lasts.
 
Good news! Rode my bike about 30 miles this afternoon and the Infotainment system worked like new! Stopped 5 times and shut the bike off and it came back on every time! I am beginning to believe that the one time when my alarm drained the battery, started this issue. Evidently, the battery voltage must be perfect, or close to perfect, for the Infotainment system to work properly. Moral of the story......don't exchange your Infotainment system until you are sure it is bad! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!
