I am about to start my winter project and my 2015 SGS is my focus. I have an airbrush artist lined up to do the paint theme in January. Planning on upgrading the rear fender and bags, but struggling with just which way to go and could really use some input from my fellow riders who have an opinion or been down this path. Here is what I have narrowed it down to and my delema.

HD CVO Bags and fender upgrade. Really like the look for the bags. They are not too low and fit the lines of the bike. The fender on the other hand is not a true CVO fender as it has that ugly plate light protruding.

Top Shop: The look of both their fender and bags is awesome, problem is that two out of three paint shops recommend not going this path because they require a lot of prep before painting.

Bad Dad: Like these very much, little concerned they maybe to low. I am not looking for the tail drag look. Price is high, but quality seems about the best next to the HD option.

One last point of concern for me is light options. I want LED and the more the better. The other big issue I have with the HD CVO fender is they only offer the tail light is red for 2015 and they look cheap to me.

The theme of the bike is Moose meets hot sexy Moose defenders. Yes, I did say Moose. Black and mono tone finish is what we are going for at this point.

Thoughts?

I'm in the process of install topshop bags and fenders and I have to say the fit and finish is stop on. I have never heard anything bad about their products.

I have been following your thread. I like the bags alot, but feel I have to go with what my painters tell me, otherwise I could be setting my self up for a steep paint prep charge. They look great and look forward to seeing your project finished. Sounds like your doing it right. Good luck!

I don't think you can go wrong with topshop or baddad. Both are quality products. But I understand why your hesitant on topshop because of your painter. I just ordered baddad stretched tank shroud for mine. Looking forward to see what direction you go.

I had decided on Azzkikr Big Merc bags, side covers and fender. I like to look, but having second thoughts because I can't figure out how they deal with the license plate.

Yeah that's a good question. I don't see anything on their website about it.

You can get ABS bags and fender through Mikwaukee Baggers.

I just looked at Azzkikr's site again and the rear fender you can get either smooth or frenched for a license plate.

I've never heard of topshop having any issues with prepping for paint, I have topshop 4.5 bags and just purchased the minister rear fender and the finish is flawless.. my fender and bags came painted from the factory match.com he deals with topshop everyday and won't use anything else. Hope this helps and keep us posted with your decision

I have the topshop minister CVO fender and HD CVO bags. Topshop stuff is pretty much block sand and paint. Can't imagine body guys complaining about their stuff.

You guys are moving me back to the Top Shop option. Thanks for all the positive feedback and Im sure TS appreciates it as well. I just have to convince my paint guy.

SGBrian, why did you go with the CVO bags and not the TS bags? This combo looks great! Just wondering why.

Quite honestly they were the only bags available, TS or anyone else wasn't making bags for the 14's yet. The bike was barely a month old when I did all the mods.

Winter Project Complete!

Winter Project Complete!

Done for now. I decided not to do the theme bike, but rather looked to go with a classy two tone separated by a denim black patch. I was totally confidant with my airbrush artist, just afraid I would tier of it. These images do not do the color justice in this flat light. I will repost when I get some sunlight to take better photos. Here is what I ended up doing:

Bad Dad Speaker LED lids
Top Shop Bags and Fender
J&M 500 watt amp and 4 speakers
Mean City Custom Heated Seat
Stage 1 V&H ExhaustFirstLookMod.jpgCustom5.jpgCustom3.jpgCustom.jpg

Very effen nice, that 1st photo how your bike stands out and everything is blurred rocks...good job!
