Pardon me if this has been discussed somewhere before...but I couldn`t find it.
My question is whether switching from Amsoil Synthetic back to conventional oil will do any harm. I did the first 1000 mile oil change with regular oil and went to Amsoil on the 5000 mile change. I have valve or lofter noise and I`ve heard it may be quieter with conventional oil.

You get more of an issue switching from conventional oil to synthetic, rather than vice-versa. I've had Amsoil in for the past 8,000...no oil change...no noise. She's about due though...

The Dynacycle has a hot viscosity of 17.85 vs 20.1 for Amsoil. databulletin

The lower viscosity reduces viscous friction and makes for a little more HP. It also reduces oil film thickness and may cause higher engine wear. I would stick with Amsoil. Amsoil is thinner when cold, so start-up engine noise may be a little more.
