would anyone no any reason NOT to connect the amp to the remote wire from an aftermarket head unit as opposed to the headlight harness. When connected to the harness, the amp is supplied power directly from the ignition. So if the bike is on or running and the head unit is OFF .. there is speaker hiss. If you connect the amp to the remote wire of the head unit .... it only powers the amp when the unit is turned on. Which is the sole reason for this wire.

So why would a shop connect to the harness? Is there any specific reason for this method that I might be unaware of resulting in damage?

Ignorance? Laziness? Maybe he didn't know your HU had a remote switched power wire and instead used something he knew was switched, the head light.

I don't see any benefits to not using the HU switched hot if it's available. Also your headlight turns off when in accessory.

Thats what I was thinking and appreciate the second opinion .... They actually messed up the fade and balance connections as well so it's not surprising. I had to go in and mess around re-wiring the connections. Was super frustrated however it ll rocks now!! Again thank you!!
