Adding a design

Being fairly new to bikes, I was wondering if there's any way to add stuff like pinstripes or designed without completely repainting the bike? I live the color on my bike but I'd like to add some extras. I really don't want to lose the color since I just added the color matched tour pack. Plus, blue is my favorite color. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can have someone put on stripes or go with air brush .

There are infinite design decals you can purchase from a variety of places. I put a contrasting red design on the rear fender to fill the gap after changing from a standard two-up to a solo. Unlimited possibilities.

I like your studded bag lid covers. Where did you get those? Haven't seen studded covers at the HD as hop.

Mustang part #77624 (black studded). Also available in chrome studded. One recommendation...let the covers lay in the hot sun for a couple hours prior to stretching them over the lid covers. Fit is very tight.

I like those and the ones on your seat....when I installed my HD covers, I put them in the dryer for a few minutes till they warmed up...much easier...now if they could only supply some heat proof Velcro.....

Thanks. I found them on eBay from Dennis Kirk for $108. They'll look good with studded LePera seat.

Vinyl decals ..... easily applied and easily removed. Cheap, too.

I added some vinyl decals (flames) that were in a chrome finish on my '09. The tank/saddlebag decals were sort of a screamin' eagle design flame...... the front fender leading edge, saddlebag tops and rear fender top were solid red chrome. Barely visible unless the light hit right.
I got them from a seller on ebay.

I only kept them on the bike for a year, but the bike did see a lot of outdoor sun exposure in those two summers. When I removed the decals, the paint had faded enough that I had some faint "ghost flames" that were minutely darker than the rest of the exposed paint. I liked it.....

Also, notice the tour pak outline... it has a light grey border. That is reflective black tape that isn't visible unless there is a bright flash of light (camera) or a headlight at night hits it.

As an experiment in vinyl decals, I also added some REFLECTIVE vinyl tape to the wheels. They came pre-curved for motorcycle wheels.... again, off ebay.

Once again, I applied the reflective pinstripes to my modular helmet...... which I carried in my tour pak for wet/cold weather.

If you couldn't tell, I wanted to be seen. Having been a victim of an 80 year old person turning left head on into me back in '87 while on a motorcycle, I really wanted to be seen.
I was out of work for 8 months and still have shoulder issues 25 years later.
