About to order the Vance and Hines 2 into 1 Pro Pipes.
From this fórum looks like this will be the best notable increase in proformane along with the FP3 V&H. My question is about the black finish. Are these easy to maintain or is chrome a better option? My bikes Denum black but haven't had any experience with the matt black finish on the exhausts. Lve in a costal área with lots of salt air.

Can't answer as to the black finish, but you will like the pipe! When you decide to add more horsepower or more cubic inches, they have a larger baffle for the pipe.

Thanks Slingshot83. Hoping to get some input on the black pipe finish before I pull the trigger. Chrome is always welcomed but I'm sure the black finish would set the bike apart and it would look great on my bike.

Black V&H exhaust is not easier than chrome to take care of. Their instructions say not to use harsh detergents or chemicals on black exhaust systems. They do look really nice, but if you get tar or something on them, you might as well leave it, or risk making it worse if you use the wrong cleaner on them. Also, wash them down with dawn dish soap before you start it to prevent oils and fingerprints from being baked in. I sold my black Dresser Duals and went with a chrome Pro Pipe this time around.

I had a Wide Glide a few years back and part of the spring cleaning routine was to remove the pipes, blast and recoat. There was no cleaning them and after a couple weeks, they started to look well used. Maybe the coatings they use today are better. I think black chrome would look cool and would clean up like chrome.
