All,

I am trying to get an overall cost of adding 12" yaffe bars with dealer install and everything needed. Could I hear some of your experienceso. I understand cost can very significantly, just trying to gather a savings plan.

I did them myself in about 3 hours. When I asked the dealer, they estimated 2-3. I did 8" bars. Not sure if 12's would take longer.

What ever your parts is, Plus $900-1000 in labor. At least that's what my stealership told me.

Just buy the bars and the wire extensions, and do it yourself. Save you a lot of $$$ and give you some knowledge of your bike.

This! It might be a pain to do, but you will save a bundle and you'll have the satisfaction of doing it yourself. It's not as hard as it seems, the hardest part is pulling the wires through the bars, you need LOTS of patience....and you might invent a couple new swear words in the process ;)

Many years ago I paid someone $1000 to change my bars. I vowed never to do that again. Since then I have changed about 4 bars on various bikes. Very easy to do but it takes patience and time. If got those two things, go for it. If not, pay for it so nothing gets messed up.

Hopefully Biketoberfest they will be their. Going to get mine done.

Just buy the wire extensions and do it yourself. I just installed a set of Factory 47 12" assault bars on my SG, took me about 4 hours taking my time. Very easy to do once you get everything out of the way, fishing the wires through the bars took me about 15 minutes at most, easy to do.

Your a couple hours south of me, ride it up here and we'll do it together. You'll learn something about your bike. Or, You Tube it and follow the directions, it's not overly hard, just have to pay attention to the details.

Let me know
