So I go out for a ride and get off my bike and I see this....20140926_113624.jpg

Apparently this is just velcroed on. I was going to buy the "skull #1" but not if it can fall off this easy.

Call it what you want it is just like Velcro.
Not the same. That's like saying a Ford is the same as a Mercedes.
Velcro (hooks in loops):

Dual Lock (mushroom heads 5x stronger than velcro):

It takes some pressure to get that emblem off. I have had mine off twice and it goes flying every time.

I'm afraid all the A/C screw covers attach the same way. When I got the Screamin Eagle it had it's own cover and I found out then that's how they go on. Key here like hulkss said is to align and PRESS evenly all across the emblem.

Yes, just went to my Harley Dealer and they didn't have one in stock but ordered one for me. And it might be stronger than Velcro but it is just a glue that holds it on the emblem.

Cancel the order.... I have one you can have.... let me know. I replaced my stock one with the SE one.

Spazz, I appreciate that but It's covered under the warranty. No charge to me.

The Dual Lock is bonded to the emblem and cover with VHB acrylic adhesive, not just a "glue".

Glue is an adhesive that is created by prolonged boiling of animal connective tissue, usually from horses.

Sorry, I'm an Engineer and I can't stop myself from sayin' this kinda $hit.:D

The damn emblem fell off anyway, so it sure ain't a perfect solution.

I didn't think of that. So while I was riding, someone jumped on my bike and stole my emblem. Must of been a sneaky Son of a ....... I'm going to have to pay more attention.

No it fell off because I remember I took my cover off, wiped down the bike from some dust, had some smudges on the cover and I shined it up. Made no stops and road to Harley and when I got off it was gone. It might of not been snapped in all the way. I was checking the stuff out that they use and if they didn't push down hard enough I could see it just flying in the wind.

I bet you didn't snap it in... it's not like you just stick it there.... you gotta have some pressure to snap ( it's audible ) it in properly...

I guess next time I buy a new bike I'm gonna go through it and tighten everything.
