V&H Pro Pipe

The V&H Pro Pipe gives excellent performance but probably not much of an increase in power & torque over your current setup. It's important to consider that the specs of the stock cam will only allow a certain level of performance in your engine no matter how many speed parts are bolted on.

I truly like the way my setup is now as dual pipes flowing from engine to rear of the bike, clean look, V&H Pro-pipe is also very clean look, except one pipe.

If not much HP gain then I will not bother with it and leave my setup alone, I will find a friend of mine that is good in tuning sportbikes but he is good in Dyno tuning so maybe he can push maximum power out of the setup I have as I am not getting help (being ignored by FP3 tech support, sent 2 emails and left a voicemail msg) from V&H FP3 support group. That's one thing I can't stand about some of these companies, they won't do much or totally ignores you when they can't help, instead of at least try or just straight out tell me that's all that can be done. Oh well, live & learn, never again buy V&H product, I will spend a bit more money if I have to and go with Dirty Bird 2-1 exhaust if I upgrade cam in the future and get more HP out of my bike.....or save up and move up to 120 cu in. motor......in the meantime I will just live with my setup and enjoy the ride..... :)

The race baffle in the Pro Pipe is to much for a stock bike, but the medium baffle that comes with it will wake up a Rushmore engine.

I've talked with Chris Neely about maps, and he seems approachable...

Hope you get better result......all I want is for him to look at the map I have and see if anything else can be done........I don't want to shell out another $550 for a different head pipes or another system I just want what I have to gain max HP output using FP3......I am not asking HP like my sportbike, just more with the setup I have than OEM setup.

I am also not please and still waiting on Freedom Performance tech support as they claim the setup exhaust system I have should provide 10-12HP and I would like to know how exactly to go about getting that with Arlen Ness big sucker air breather which also claim 21% HP gain. No doubt I gained top end speed with the setup I have but I am lagging on low/mid range and I just want to know if there is something that can be done with different map.

I am also not sure if Chris know what exactly is True Dual Freedom Performance head pipes are, he asked me to use Dresser dual with twin slash round slip-on's. I have done several AutoTune's and covered more than half of the squares and bike is still not performing with max power.

As soon as I have more time I am going to try another map, Slash 4" Slip-ons W/True Duals....that sounds more of what I have than the one he pointed out to me.....then I'll compare.

I talked to one of the their techs yesterday about setup and 'getting close' with a map ( in general ) The best case scenario is to find a headpipe that matches yours the closest to a V/H headpipe... like if you are running a jackpot 2-1-2... you would choose a map containing powerduals headpipe....for example. You only have 3 choices there... 2-1, 2-1-2 and 2-2 setups. Then you must match the closest slipons to yours. They say run it for a while and let the ECM self-tune after the flash. At that point, if you ( the customer ) is not satisfied with the performance, an auto-tune can be run to dial it in.

During this conversation, I began to inquire about maps for the 120ST motor... since I have one in my RGS and have yet to buy a tuner. I have called many tuner companies looking for definitive answers on getting a GOOD TUNE... and so far... clear as mud. The tech assured me that Chris would be able to help me out... I need to get my details to him off my 120ST... bore/stroke, cam details, injector size etc.... I was then told these numbers would go to their fuelpak guys and build a base map for my 120ST... TO START a tune. This leads me to believe I would definitely need to run an Auto-tune session ( which I wold do anyway )

I have been holding back on buying a tuner for my 15RGS120 since I love the FP3 so much on my 14SGS... it's hard to pull away from it and go with a TTS or ThunderMax and pay $500-$900 for it and then another $400 for a dyno.

Didn't mean to get off track on your thread, but getting a proper tune for your COMPLETE setup is key to best overall performance.... if you ( we ) can achieve that with the support of the tuner techs, we would be golden!

Also.. don't get hung up on numbers that these folks give you... These numbers are based on BEST CASE scenarios... you will fall short on numbers. TRUST ME. Two bikes that are identical can be dyno'd... one in CA and one in PA and get completely different numbers.... geo location and the tuner (tech) have a lot to do with what your sled will put out.

I hear ya.....the only reason I went with FP3 was I read many reviews on how helpful their tech support is and when I talk to Chris from the beginning he was exactly that then started to go south, very short replies and delays then completely no reply. He asked to call him and I did as stated in my previous post and no call back. I just want them to look at my map before shutting me down by saying the setup I have is not good enough and pretty much forcing me to buy V&H product is what I am feeling.....not once Chris attempted to say let me see if I can tweak the map you are using to gain low/mid range power, instead he asked if I have tried throttle options and I told him I have, but not Race 1.1 which I will try next then I will switch to the other map and see if that'll work better. I have put in around 300 miles since FP3 was installed so that's enough mileage to get good AutoTune out of it....and I flashed it.

If/when you talk to him mention to him about me if you want and see what he has to say.....thanks!

Here is what I have from AutoTune...

I am not actually looking to gain 12HP from exhaust system and 21% from air breather....just around 10HP total is good, my neighbor with 2015 using V&H power duals, Bassani 4" megaphone slip-on's and SE tuner gained 20HP after Dyno tune so he is around 80+HP now and mine Dyno'd OEM setup around 73HP so I would like to see around 80+HP also or more if that's possible with my setup......not asking for much after spending over $1k....am I?
