***V&H Dresser Duals scraping in right hand leans and/or turns***

I just turned 430 miles on my new '15 SGS yesterday. I was feeling great about the bike itself and the beautiful exhaust note produced by the V&H DDs; that is, until I parked the bike back in the wheel chock and stepped away to admire it. I was shocked to see that the bottom of the front header pipe's heat shield had scrapes running the entire length of it. The rear portion of my right floorboard bracket (not the floorboard), also has scrapes on it. Let this be a warning to those of you who have, or are considering the DDs, that they are subject to scraping during right hand leans and/or turns. Stay tuned for pics.

I bought a used set of DD from a forum member the heat sheilds where scrapped up. V&H will sell the sheilds individually. I have the phone number for V&H parts if you want it.

Scraped my power duals the other day also making a right turn. Had some serious lean going on and a bump in the corner. Sounded terrible but I bought them for performance and they are working really good for that.

You're not alone TomA. Several of my buddies have done the same on the SG/SGS with those pipes. So far, so good with my True Duals.

I have read many reports about the power dual scraping, not too many about the dresser duals. I'm not a real aggressive rider so I haven't scraped mine yet. Also have only had them on the bike for about 400 miles. They do open this motor up and let it breath tho.

As promised, here are the photos of the damage to the heat shield and footboard mounting bracket.

That's making me nervous about the dresser duals I just put on. I don't ride super aggressive but I do at times take sharper corners, especially through the mountains, and the roads here aren't perfect so bumps aren't uncommon.

I would imagine you should be fine. Besides, even if you do scuff them a bit, it adds character!

I've had my Powerduals on since day one on this bike and almost 10,000 miles . Never have I scraped. Plus I do not ride aggressive.
