I'm ready for my 1K service so I was going to work with a local guy .... NOT HD ..... to get the work done ....

When I explained that I wanted to have a set of V&H Dresser Duals with a set of Rinehart 4" slip on's installed he told me that they are not compatible. He stated he just finished installing this same configuration on a FLHXS and that they did not fit and he need to cut a piece of steel to complete the install.....

HUH?

This made no sense to me at all.

Anyone hear of this before or had these components installed that may provide some additional insight on this?

I'm thinking now I should just go ahead and have the HD dealer do all the work.

Geeze ..... is life ever simple????

He has no idea what he is talking about. I have the exact same system on my 16 SGS and they fit perfectly and if I say so myself they sound amazing. I did have mine installed at the dealer, but I haven't heard of anyone else having any problems.

Don't have rineharts but I do have dresser duals. I matched them up with monster twin slashes. I installed the system myself. Wasn't that hard and only took a couple of hours.

As long as u order the compatible size on the rinehearts u will be fine..... Prob 1.75 inlet on the rinehearts

I just installed the Rinehart 4" mufflers to my stock decat headers. The Rineharts were 2" . My headers were 1.75". Got a 2"- 1.75" reducer and its all good. Some RH mufflers are 2" to match their true duals. I saved alot of money buying used and adapting.
