I see a lot on there from China, which I assume are knockoffs. Don't want to go cheap and end up with melted wire and a big problem later. Any experience?

There are surely good deals, and good products on ebay. However, leave it to a few to screw up a good thing. I have bought alot of stuff from ebay, and had a few bad experiences with cheap Chinese knockoffs made to look like the original, including packaging. I got tired of the cheap stuff on ebay and quit shopping there. I know several guys on this site have had good luck with ebay. Just shop with care.

I got my Daymaker on eBay but it was from an HD Dealership somewhere on the east coast, I believe Vermont. I forget, it came in the original protective box. Paid $360. This was October last year. The ebayer was jksmith69

Or try the JW Speaker Evolution 2. Heard that this company makes the Daymaker. This one just won't say Harley Davidson. Same light tho, just need that $20 harness from HD

View attachment 8712View attachment 8713I am always searching and scanning for the best 'deal' for my bike. I recently purchased an LED headlamp off of Amazon- links are below. I was looking for an LED lamp, but just could not bolster the $500 for the HD part- not with the $$$ to spend on the rest of my winter mod. I wanted the gloss black to compliment the black theme I am working on. I had read good reviews on this site about the OLEEP and gave in to its purchase. I had contacted the seller concerning the fit to my 2015 Street Glide Special as the online description was vague. This lamp is fairly universal as it is described to fit many trucks, jeeps, and bikes. The big question was whether I was going to have to purchase the $70 bracket to attach the lamp. The seller didn't know and said that I may have to purchase the bracket. No help there. About 10 days later I received the lamp- shipped from China. The packaging was solid, very well protected, and professionally boxed. The box contains the lamp, install instructions (for a Jeep), and a wiring harness- maybe for a car, doesn't fit a Harley.
upon inspection, the lamp appeared to be well made.

Installation was simple, I did not have to remove the fairing front, and I found that it does indeed fit in the existing bracket. At the same time I purchased the lamp, I purchased the adapter harness. I wasn't sure if I would need it, but from reading the blogs and reading the install instructions for the OEM LED, I figured for $15 I would have it on hand. The harness is needed and was an exact fit. There are two loose wires on the harness (as seen on the website), that aren't used- the harness is a direct plug and play for the 2015 Street Glide. Before re-assembly, I checked the lamps operation, and all was fine. The lamp looks great in the bike, did not throw any codes, and is incredibly brighter than the OEM lamps. I have not yet ridden the bike- been cold and rainy in NorCal. Take a look at the pics. I'm going to take the thin, chrome retaining ring out and paint it black to complete the look. I will keep you posted, but as far as the cost, looks, and operation, I am quite satisfied with the lamp.

I paid $120 for the OLEEP 8700 Black Harley Daymaker Cree LED Headlight for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010BWQNJS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

The install requires a wiring harness adapter to change two headlamps into one wiring harness. For $14, I purchased the Wire Harness Adapter for 2014+ Harley Daymaker LED HD P/N #69200897, by HogWorks, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010F4NF2K?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

Glad you like the light...looks good on your bike. I almost bought it but thru some finagling I got the JW Speaker 8700 Evo 2 from Amazon for less than $100. (I won a $200 Amazon gift card from work).

I just purchased a "Day Maker", I think this is what they're calling it anyway... I bought it from eBay. $79.99, and needed the $10 adapter from amazon. So I'm $90 into it. I figure, yeah, I'll give it a whirl for $90!
It comes with an H4 plug and a separate spade connector next to the plug. In order to be able to run the little light bars across the top and bottom, you have to wire up that spade connector to a hot 12v source. I tapped into the plug for the heated grips. Heated grips are for pansies........I know I won't be needing them. LOL
Here's just the little light bars by themselves. I can only get this look when the swith is turned to accesory. I can toggle the high beam switch an get the low beam to come on as well.

In running mode......this is on during normal operation. The more light the better as far as I'm concerned.
