Im going to order a king tour pak in vivid black from HD, was wondering if it would come pinstriped or not. Or is i can order it that way. Any info on this would be appreciated.

Thinking you will have to order it with matching pin stripe for you bike.

Mine came color matched with no pinstripes. If I remember right, they did not offer pin stripes as part of a "standard" paint job.

I am ordering the king tour pack in Charcoal pearl and HD does not offer pinstripe on it.

I just picked up my new tour pak in vivid black. It did not come pinstriped. It didn't even come with a lock...smh.

When you get the lock, it won't have the screws to install it unless you ordered them too.

53963-098HY - Vivid Black w/Med silver/Med Silver pinstrips

53963-120BX - Vivid Black w/Med Silver pinstrips

Both are King Tour-Paks the pinstrips are inner and outer

I thought I remembered seeing that somewhere.......~$100 extra if I remember correctly???

Maybe don't know what they charge but that would sound about right

Certainly worth paying the $$$ for the OEM HD pinstripes. Ordered my King Tour-Pak last December with Denim Black paint, they told me it was 12 weeks out, I went back a few weeks later when I realized I had not ordered the pinstripes, and then they told me it the Tour-Pak was in. It took me 8 months to find the time & someone to do the pinstripes. They turned out 'fairly' good, don't 'quite' look OEM, but I guess good enough. I rarely use the Tour-Pak and when I do, they look fine.
Wish I coulda/woulda ordered the factory stripe. And it is funny, you have to order the locking kit & like Spazz said, it doesn’t come with the screws- weird.

the pin stripes are done at the factory using a template that is drawn around using a paint stick.
really quick to do.
if you have them done the traditional way by hand they will rarely be perfect but they will be expensive.

I don't know about the Vivid, but on the denim, the pinstripes come from the factory beneath the clear coat- which makes them slightly flat in color, and very hard to match. I tried to return mine to the factory for the pinstriping and the dealer suggested that I find a painter as the factory would want to strip off the clear (satin) coat, apply pinstripe then re- coat. You can just imagine the $$$ that would cost. It would be interesting to learn what your dealer has to say. Love having the Tour=Pak readily available though.
