I have seen that a couple of you have replaced the innards of your A/C with the SE kit. This allows you to use the stock cover, etc. My question is- do you feel like the stock cover allows enough air in to see an improvement overall? I know the filter allows more in, but does the forward facing cover? Is it as good as a completely open round unit such as the Big Sucker? Or a cone shaped unit like the Heavy Breather? Just wondering since that is probably the cheapest route..

The new SE backing plate for the stock cover is open 360 degrees behind the cover... it is no longer enclosed as with the stock backing plate. Plenty of airflow.... and only $150....

ok. I had not looked at one up close. Thought just the internals was different, but that makes more sense. That is probably the way I will go to start out then. THanks for the info.

I didn't like the way the SE filter looked so I went with one from Fuelmoto basically the same only it has a black backing plate and less "stuff" to bolt on. !0 Minute job

I tried the SE and the Fuel Moto. The Fuel Moto is on my bike. They both work OK. IMHO the Fuel Moto looks better and keeps the wires under the gas tank held by the factory supports.

I have it and agree. If the natural silver base plate doesn't suit folks, they can paint it black.
