Screamin Eagle or Bassani slip-ons?

Hi all.

I am looking for an inexpensive way of getting a bit louder and deeper sound out of my factory head pipes and stock motor. I don't want to spend more than $400 and I believe I can do that with either of these 2 brands. Does anyone have experience with either of these and which would you prefer as far as $, sound, and quality? I am also hoping that I will not have to do a remap?
Thanks!

If you are wanting a deep, loud exhaust note then my suggestion would be the Bassani's over the Screamin' Eagle just from the positive feedback I've received from folks going with the Bassani's. As for pricing / quality...I think they are both fairly equal in that regard so it ultimately will boil down to personal preference from a styling perspective in my opinion.

As for a remap...if the only thing you are changing on the bike is the muffler (ie: slip-on) then you shouldn't need to remap however, if you decide to also change the header and/or the air cleaner you'll want to remap since the air:fuel ratio will be altered from either of those upgrades.

Hope this helps!

I went from Screamin Eagle Street Performance to Bassani DNT. The S.E. is a step up in noise level from a stock slip on, at least these model of S.E. slip ons. The only reason I changed is I wanted something even louder like the Rinehardts, but different. I have a decated Fulsac Headpipe and wanted to get more out if it. I located a YouTube video of a CVO with a Fulsac H.P. with the Bassani DNT slip ons and it sounded amazing. The Bassani Deep N Throaty's are exactly that they have some bass and when I let up off the throttle they have a nice reverb without the decel pop, but they are much louder than the stock exhaust. So it depends on what you are wanting as far as noise level. If you want just a little louder, I still have my S.E. slip ons waxed and in a box in my basement and I'll hook you up on price. If you want louder with a deep throaty exhaust note, then goo with the Bassani. As far as the re-tune, with my set up, I had to, you may not. If you have any questions just ask.

A inexpensive way (maybe the most) is to try the OEM looking Bombers from American Custom. I have them and they are nice and throaty and will bark when you open it up! $199 exchange plus you can add baffles for $55 if they're too loud for you.

My thanks to all with their suggestions and comments. I was leaning towards the Bassani's myself but didn't want to influence anyone else's thoughts.

Now my question is; the DNT's, I believe are 4" diameter and over $400!:( They also have a 3-1/2" slip-on (don't know the model name) for $329. It seems that with the the DNT's you can put different end caps, and that makes up a big part of the bigger $$ difference. I don't really care about the end caps. The 3.5's come in a slash cut which is fine with me. But is the sound going to be much different between the diameters?

Yes the DNT's are 4 inch. Revzilla has the 3.5 inch for $329.00. and you have the option of straight or slash cut.
