Why are the rear shocks put on different? I was wanting to put a detachable backrest, but, all the reviews say the right side won't fit properly and the dealer said may need to flip the right side shock...thanks
There have been issues with the right side shock being incorrectly installed from the factory and may need to be flipped. It has been discussed here a lot... You can find many posts on it via the search engine.
Mine was upside down sat there fought with it trying to install sissy bar before I joined this group had the bike in for 1k oil change the dealer flipped it and charged me oh well live and learn. Just flip it over
Welcome to the fun. And yes just turn it over or if you have a good dealer have them do it. Should have been done when they were setting the bike up from shipping.
