I installed new CFR slip-ons and removed the cat from my stock header and the bike sounds awesome. However I now get random backfires and just yesterday I noticed a discoloration on the right side slip-on where it attaches to the head pipe. ( See attached image)

I am still running the stock air cleaner and that is why I did not go ahead and get a tuner when I did the cat and slip-ons.
Will a Vance & Hines FP3 correct these issues or should I go with a stage 1 air cleaner as well?

Thank you all for your advice in advance!

Joe

FP3 will correct all of these issues, and make your bike run a lot better. I had the same problems with Street Cannons on mine. The FP3 is a good upgrade it helps with other things too.

That engine has got be running hot, and way too lean. With a gutted head pipe, a very free flowing muffler, and an after market intake. It already runs lean from the factory, and with your mods you have done. You REALLY need a tuner

Treepharmer speaks the truth, you definitely need a tuner soon.

I am picking up VnH FP3 today!!
Anyone know a way to remove that yellow color from my pipe?
