I was just looking at H-D p/n 64800043 Which is a new high flow exhaust with Street Cannon style mufflers.

I figured if it was any good, H-D would have a special tuning file for it. I can check online since I own an H-D Street Tuner. Yup, there is a new tuning file already posted.

I compared volumetric efficiency (VE) tables to what I am running now and there is a 9% gain from 3000 to 4000 rpm on a stage one engine. This is comparing a bike that is already stage one, to a stage one with the new exhaust system. That is quite an improvement as a 9% increase in VE will call for 9% more fuel and make 9% more power.:D

With 2 cat converters each getting 1/2 the flow they will each put out 4 times less heat intensity than the stocker and they are back behind the rider and passenger.

Here's a plot for the gain with a Stage II 255 Cam (nearly the same as our stock high output cam).

Hey... IF you want this system... I have it.... I will make you a KILLER deal since it's coming off... it came on my 15RGS with the 120ST motor

Close, but you have the Nightstick disk muffler system p/n 64800022. Not the same mufflers. The rest is the same.

I like a quieter bike, have the CVO mufflers and no cat head pipe right now. I would love going back to a stock clean exhaust smell but this is something I'd have to save for. If this runs cooler than my system with the de-cat X pipe I'd be even more interested.

Yup.. I jumped the gun here and didn't see that you referenced the Street Cannons. If you know anybody that wants this system... let me know.. it will be collecting dust on my wall in less than a month.

It would appear that the mother ship has witnessed the cash flow to after market head pipes and exhaust components and is attempting to get a foot farther in the door! Quite possibly the heat issues of the current big catalytic converter have also been noted and HD is testing the waters for a swing back to cats in individual mufflers in coming years.

I'll look into it, even at half price I don't know if it's worth it to just get rid of the exhaust smell, have to wait for heat reports.

Are the street canons "longer" than the stock mufflers?
Do I need the end caps. I like the mufflers short.
Also, I like the 3 1/2 thunder street mufflers as well. I don't wish to change
the header pipe at this time but am looking for a nice deep sound.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks
Mike R
