My girlfriend melted her boot on my black exhaust. Does anyone have a good way of removing this without messing up the coating. I find tons of stuff on removing it from chrome exhaust not too much on black. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You might try the Mr Clean magic erasers they work on chrome also. Just make sure they are wet

I had some remover I got from the dealer a while back. Can't find it now, but I will try and find out the name of it. It was like a hard eraser. You rubbed it over boot marks or whatever was on pipe and it removed it like an eraser.

2 things depending on how bad it is, acetone, or easy off (get the exhaust hot first) -

Thank you! I'm going to try these out this weekend.

You can try Goo Gone, that stuff is pretty amazing for a lot of cleanups. I suggest that no matter what you try, you aaply it first to a very small area on the bottom of your exhaust in an out-of-sight location. That way if it marks up or discolors the finish it will happen somewhere that you don't care about.

If you use easy-off ..... NEVER USE the lemon scent version .....

I did on my V&H Longshots on my Honda Shadow and it left a yellowish stain .... I was f@cking pissed !!!!!!!

Don't forget to get a new girlfriend....unless she's worth more
