LED Accent Lighting

Agree, looks cool and added safety feature, but think I would get tired of it.

I agree, I am sure there is some added safety, but it aint for me, to neon cheesy.

I once bought a set of neon tubes for the spark plug wires while at Myrtle Beach bike week about 10 years ago. They fired off with each spark of the plugs. It looked cool.... especially at night.
I grew tired of them rather quickly, though.

I still have one hanging on the wall in the garage. I use it to find top dead center when performing maintenance or repairs on engines.

Someone told me that they can't/shouldn't be turned when the bike is running....anyone heard of this? They said that they put a drain on the battery when the bike is running and should only be used when parked.? IDK.....

i've been installing LED accent lighting for 15 years. whomever told you that is 100% dead wrong. now as to whether the setting you use will depend on your state laws, but if they are installed correctly you should only see the effect of the light and not the fixture itself. Some states say you can't have red or blue but only if they are flashing not left on solid. these lights get more and more efficient each year, they draw milliamps off the battery when the bike is not running and is not noticeable to your electrical system when the bike is running. having an accessory plugged into your cigarette lighter will draw 5-20x more power than your accent lighting will. i have mine on at all times when i'm riding between dusk and dawn. And they will be on for hours upon hours when my bike is parked at night. If you have any questions feel free to message me at anytime.

Just like chrome, it's not for everyone. I have a set of amber lights that I want to put on. I had them around my engine on the fld but took them off because the way I had them mounted was lazy and poor looking. I want to out one or 2 per side above the engine hidden by the tank and another one glowing on the ground. I had them wired thru the accessory circuit then a switch so they would only turn on if the bike was either on or in accessory but could also be turned off. I also had an idea of wiring them into the turn signals but haven't tried it yet.

As already stated, check state laws as to when you can use them. AZ allows them if the source is not visible, but I never got stopped with them on.

Mine are the 3" strips from radiantz. They are very affordable and bright. Each strip has a 3 foot wire so you can get them wherever you want with room to spare.
