Looking for some advice, I just installed a set of 10" LA choppers, ran the TPS in the bars, ran the right hand accessory control wire outside, ran left side control wire inside. when finished the bike started, all lights work, but I have a "check eng Light" icon illuminated. Did I screw something up or do I need to clear a code? thanks in advance for any input.

What codes are you getting?

sorry for the late reply, the codes are 1510,2122,2138

P1510: EFI Limited Performance Mode
P2122: TGS1 Low/Open
P2138: TGS2 High

I'm gonna bet that you either shorted out a wire, broke a wire or connector, or don't have one of the pins set correctly. Did you extend your harnesses? If so, if you cut the TBW above the green connector, you may have gotten the wires backwards...

I did replace the molex connecter (6 pin) on the lower half of the wire bundle that connects to the inner fairing connector. I did not use extensions, I was able to release the inner fairing receptacle and cut a few zip ties to feed it up closer to handle bar. The Harley parts manual indicate that the wire harness for the TBW from the twist grip handle to the end connectors( the part that gets de-pinned) near the heated grip connector is actually two connected wire bundles. since they are wrapped I cant see the connection, is this true? if so, that may be where my short is at. to replace it, I would have to order both parts to replace the end that de-pinned and the upper end with the twist grip assy. Thanks for your feed back in advance.

They are separate bundles, and the problem is they use the same color wires for both sides. It's possible you got the wires flip-flopped. I just did mine ('09), but it has a different TBW than the newer ones, and only one connector. Same wire issues though at the TGS end.

I think I got the wires reassembled correctly at the 6 pin portion on the end, from my looking around and speaking with others, I am being pointed to the 4 pin green connector at the lower end of twist grip assy or mid way of the total length, of the whole assy. I really struggled to pull the harness out of the stock bars at the upper bend and I am being told, that is where and when the wires get damaged on the green connector, either pulled from the seated connection or the wire slips the crimp internally.

True story! Mine were hell, and I broke the green connector. You have to get the green connector into the first bend before you push the switch wiring through. It's a really good chance that that is where your problem is with the codes she's throwing at you. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone for your feedback, TBW assy on order. the good news is I have master the tear down and reassembly, I should be able to get it done in a few hours when the new parts arrive....lol

Yeah I was having the same problem the green switch got stuck on my and when I was trying to back it out just broke in half I was told to cut of the plug and solder the cables but I just gonna buy a new one I'm ordering the screaming eagle one part number #32310-08 this one has no connector in the middle so pulling the cables will be a lot easier. And clear those codes

Hoczero,

did that SE part# work for you, my parts guy said that the connectors plugs on my SG are different, (male to female reversed). works for 2015 and later models only?

Yeah it work just have to cut the pins of and solder to my plug
