So my mechanic suggested if I do cams to go with T-Man 555 Torqster's with my set up as seen below. My questions are with normal riding will this have any effect on engine life? I was also told to change out to adjustable push rods do I also need to change out the lifters / tappets as well?
Thanks

I recommend the new SE-585 cam from H-D. Good for lots of torque.

Also install from H-D: SE inner cam bearings, SE beehive valve springs, SE perfect fit push rods, and SE high capacity tappets.

This won't hurt the life of your engine. And, if properly installed, with all the parts listed, you may even extend its life. The adjustable pushrods, eliminates slop.

So the more I look at options the more confused I become. I do not understand what the different numbers mean such as lift, duration TCD, etc. Is there a way I can be educated, like a website. I have been told by a few people to go with a T-MAN 555 Torqster or the S.E. 585's. I can only tell by reviews since I don't know what I looking at with the numbers. To save time, I have a 103 with a S.E. Vent. Elite A/C, S.E. Super Race Tuner Pro, Fullsac DX Headpipes and Bassani DNT slip ons. I normally shift at around 3 grand the bike has never seen past 4500. I ride 2 up on highways and hilly back roads. I don't foresee changing out the heads to a 107 or 110. I am looking for the balance of added power and reliability. The T-Mann 555's are designed to be quiet and still use the stock valve springs, which would reduce labor costs and parts costs. The S.E. 585 as recommended by Hulkss, is designed to be quiet but will require me to change to the beehive springs. So help me make an educated decision.

Wood 777 cams are .575 lift. Still use stock head set up. All those cam numbers mean important things. But in reality, don't worry about them. Figure out what your ridin style is and match the cam description to that. Let the engineers worry about the numbers. Look at my set up below. This bike hauls! Period!
Great pull from take off past 5k rpm. I'm at 101hp and 111 lb. ft. of torque. I ride two up and we travel a lot.
Cam kit was $750 and included Wood 777 cams, Knight Prowler lifters, adjustable push rods, inner cam bearings, all the gaskets needed. I bought a Power Vision tuner and Fuel Moto got me a great tune. This bike just runs and again, it pulls great. The 2-1 exhaust was a great change and really help get more out of the set up.
Don't worry about all the numbers. It gets too overwhelming and really, just narrow down what you want out of your mod for your riding style. Fuel Moto is run by great guys who will spend all day on the phone with till you understand what's going on. Call Fuel Moto and talk to Bob. They are tremendous at getting you what you want and they will be there for any questions during and after the mod. Maybe the 222 or 555 cams are the ticket. Make some calls and talk to the people who know what the numbers mean and go where you feel comfortable. That's very important.
If you can change oil you can install cams. Just my opinion, but it's not hard. Fuel Moto has, I believe, 11 videos on You Tube that take you through the steps to change cams. S&S also has a good video.

14POSE,
For what it's worth I have the TTS-100's in my 15 street glide and I really like them. They dont like to go down low though in rpm's. They like to run at 1800-2000 rpm and above. Stock heads and pushrods. Really come on strong 2500-3000 rpm and up.
Thanks
Greg
