I am finally thinking about upgrading my bike. I bought it 2 years ago, driven her about 5000 miles and have been thinking about upgrades. like I said got it 2 years ago and don't know much about her, I got a small white box that says Screaming Eagle EFI Race tune kit, it has an after market breather and true duels other than that I don't know much about her. I have been wanting to do the cams and put a gear drive on. I have wrenched on and built a lot of car engines but never been into a HD motor. if I change the cams do I have to take it back to HD to have it tuned Again.... Not looking forward to that.... What cams are a good fit? Can I find any thing on the web that will step me through the change out?

I wouldn't worry about gear drive cams, just use chain cams.

I put in wood 222 and the word out now is the tts 100 cam is hot.

Lots of cam choices, you need to figure out where you want your power? Low for touring or high for drag racing your buddies.

I'm happy with my setup.

Here is a video about swapping cams.

Here is my Dyno sheet with the 222 cams.

Thanks for the info, the vid was great... I'm just looking for more lower end power. I am upgrading to the thunder max so I don't have to take it to harley anymore every time I do something to my bike.

I am Leaning to the wood performance 222 cams. i wonder if I would have any interference problems with them.

So if I go with these cams will i have any issues with the valves?

Not that I'm aware of, I put the 222 in and don't have any issues. You do know that after changing cams you should have the bike ran on a Dyno and have it adjusted properly so you don't burn it down right?

I am changing the computer out to the thunder max so I don't have to take it to harley anymore.. My wallet don't like to do that every time I change something on my bike.

Odie, I have been looking at those as well, for the same reason $$$, that would be great if you could share the results and your set up. Thanks

I was at my friends shop the other day and watched him put it into his custom street G and he showed me how to install and set up first tune, really easy for someone that hasn't done one yet.. Then ride the bike, he drove it around town for about 15 min then hooked his laptop up and you could see the base tune and the auto tune in the same screen... I was impressed..and I found it here on this site cheaper...lol...

I agree, I have been looking at some youtube videos and it seems that for technical inclined, it would be fairly simple, provided you can match your setup to the preloaded maps, which seems to be a large library of them.

I know I will have to ask him for some help when I do it. He has done it a lot more than me , but with that being said the only thing I'm not sure of is what is in my bike ... I bought it and it already had the race tune and stage ? Kit on it, so I would be gessing.. But if it was a stock bike I wouldn't have a second thought about setting it up my self..
